Help WhatsApp unavailable to complete initialization

First day with my Wildfire and I have downloaded WhatsApp via WiFi and Mobile data connection. Can't see to get passed the message (in the subject field) even after successfully using mobile data to browse Google etc. I have removed and installed WhatsApp a number of times already. Any tips would be helpful. Never had an Android mobile previously. Facebook, Twitter all seem to be ok

It seems it was only a waiting game. I tested that the WhatsApp application server was available via a second mobile and after 4-5 hours "voila" it was prompting me for the next step. A little annoying that it had sync'd all my Gmail contacts in the process but gave me another chance of getting used to the new menu UI
