When 8 core phone comes, can 2 core phone left behind?

The same specs as the GS3, but runs really smooth and fast. The device wasn't 80$ it was about 300$, but for such device without any contract that is a good price.

Sounds like you did well - still, spending $300 on an unknown brand is a braver move than most of us would like to make :D

That is not exactly true. Sure there are some things from china that are not worth buying. About a month ago I bought a phone from china called zopo (in the link below is the review). The same specs as the GS3, but runs really smooth and fast. The device wasn't 80$ it was about 300$, but for such device without any contract that is a good price.

Fortunately Zopo are a reputable company, which is reflected in the price, i.e. $300 and not $65, from hands-on experience I do know that their devices are quite good. They're a known manufacturer, and not some fly-by-night "trading company" run from a bedroom in some cheap seedy backstreet hotel/brothel in Shenzhen. ...it's true.. I've seen it with my own eyes.

But even buying a device from a reputable brand directly from China does have its risks, for one you'll have zero consumer protection, the BBB will NOT help you.

Let me introduce you to how things are normally done here... courtesy of @pengyou.

OK?

BTW my avatar does reflect my particular interests in Android, and location as well. :) ..I also have a Samsung Galaxy phone, which was purchased in Hong Kong and NOT mainland. I also know we've had a few rather funky issues with devices that people have bought from China. Including a couple of tablets from Shanghai that had Chinese government censoring in them, they couldn't get Facebook or YouTube, even though they were in the US or UK.

Great!!

I'm not surr what you're trying to say. But me, given the choice between a cheapo chinese Android phone and a basic feature phone from a reputable brand, I'd stick to the reputable brand. Although it's not a real life scenario for me, that's just my opinion.

In my experience, when ive lost/had stolen an android phone, ive bought a really bad cheap used android phone as a stand-in because it makes things so seamless (contacts etc)
Theyve been brand name phones but really terrible pieces of crap though lol :)

I sync my Google contacts and calendar to Outlook on my PC, so transferring them to Nokia or a dumb phone is easy. Not that I'd need to anyway. I still have my old Galaxy S in a drawer at home. Lol.

:ditto:

I know Google keeps these things, but I like to have my own copy in Outlook.

As for phones in drawers, I always hang on to my previous phone in case my new one goes walkabout. The idea is to sell the old one next time I uprade, trouble is I keep my phones so long, when I'm ready to sell, the phone is like 5 years old and probably worth less than the shipping :D

Actually I haven't thought of selling them. Every phone I ever had is still at home, except for that one that got away (stolen). My olf 3310 still works lol.

But point of it is, I find those types of phones more reliable than some super cheap Chinese Android. Safer too.

Unless the missus dumped them before our last move, we (literally) have a stack of old phones: the missus used to work for one of the networks and changed her phone about as often as she changed her underwear .. and got to keep the old phones. Every once in a while, they'd also just put out some old phones for people to take home.

Downside is some had foreign keyboards as she worked in international.
