Help When a remembered wifi network is in range, it gets stuck on "obtaining IP"

I've been having this problem with my LG Ally for as long as I remember. When I get in-range to a remembered network, it gets stuck on "obtaining IP address" and I have to turn wifi on and off to get it to connect successfully. It's pretty consistent, too. It always seems to happen when I get in range, and turning it off once and turning it back on always fixes it.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Could this be an Ally-only issue? Obviously it's not a problem with the wifi since I get the same problem on all networks.

Thanks.

Not that I doubt you, but how do you know?

I don't for certain, however, it is not a common question and I've never experienced that behavior with Samsung or HTC handsets. If it is a problem with Android on certain handsets, the solution for the Ally may not be the same for other models or manufacturers, so the most reliable suggestions will be found here. :)
