when are we getting 2.1????????

Honestly, and I'm not trying to be rude ... but if you don't know the significance of the USB drivers, then maybe this isn't for you.

keep in mind that there's always upkeep and maintenance when it comes to running custom roms, so you will need at the very least some basic knowledge about computers.
 
I have a basic knowledge of computers, I dont however know a bunch of computer talk. I know what a USB is, I dont however know what it means to have a driver for it. I can install anything, but I guess I dont understand why I would need that if its not something included in the box. whats the point of it?

And its ok, I dont think you are being rude, but I'm trying to learn.

Great, I'm glad you didn't take it that way and this is the right place to come for answers.

The USB drivers are basically what allow the phone to communicate with your computer. Think of the driver as the middle man between your phone and your computer. The computer is of American decent and speaks only English while your phone is your typical Frenchman Oui Oui and doesn't know a lick of English. Well the USB driver is the translator between the two.

Ok, I was going to go do this, but guys in that thread have been talking about mms problems and having to download other stuff. like adb, I found a setup for it, but dont know what it means.

If I do this am, I going to have to put this on my phone and then download a bunch of stuff to make it work right?

also, if he comes out with another version, no bugs etc.... how do I remove the R3, or do I just put the new one over it>?

No, you won't have to download a bunch of other stuff to make it work but apparently now the creator is on his 4th revision which will include adb. I'm not that knowledgeable on adb so you would have to ask someone else in that forum about it.

You do not need to remove anything you would just put it over the previous version and it will work fine.
 
Well 2.1 will be nice when we get it. I'm happy with 1.6 tho right now and I know the current people workin On the BH2 will have it out when they get a chance.
 
Yup. Definitely go with the R4. Most stable build yet. One way to test if you got USB driver working is launch the ODIN software. If you dont have it yet, its post all over forum. "Odin Multi Downloader v4.03" is the name. Once launched look into the software and see if it detect any devices. If it does. You are golden for life. All it left for you is to download the R4 and flash it via software and u are done!!!!
 
ok ya I need to remove it, I came to the behold from the mytouch, and the R5 I put on my phone has that camera. I wanted all the other functions, so I'll wait til later. Just need to know how to restore the default....please and thanks!!

Ah if you like Samsung's camera app then I would advise you to ODIN back to stock updated Samsung rom as Shawn posted above me.

THEN go to BH_MAN tweaked version of the stock Samsung rom which remove A LOT of bloat wares and twiz(this slow ur phone down dramatically). Camera & Vibration all work. Just no crap wares. =)

i updated, but a boot up it doesn't recognize my touches. wtf is going on? please help.



oh nevermind. i rebooted the phone and everything's ok. i was scared for a bit lol :/

i am already updated to 1.6, it works flawlessly so far. would be great to get the real lastest update which is 2.0 or soon to be 2.1
