When I saw the Vibrant....

....few hours later I see the Fascinate with LED FLASH, and the Epic 4G with basically everything, and now I feel 
. FFC isn't a big deal, but FLASH and a LED notification system is. What is this I don't even.....

if you see the pics from the night mode on these phones its obvious the flash isnt really needed. i am with you on the no FFC tho. i may not use it all the time but would be a nice thing to have. i have had my upgrade for a few months now and have been waiting for a real superphone and it sounds like this is as good as its going to get till the holidays so i will prolly pick this up just because its the best option on tmo for a while

You dont need flash in this camera. It has night mode.

Hey guys, former Inc owner here. I ran across this phone and became interested real quick. Can't believe there isn't more hype. This phone is the real iPhone contender and looks great. The only thing I don't like is the 5mp camera, but at least it has a flash.
I am really looking forward to this phone. I was considering the Droid X, but this phone seems to be the perfect "in between" phone and I think it should be "Fascinating". (couldn't resist)

i have an inc but this phone makes me want to jump ship, i could care less about the x, everything i've seen about the humming bird processor makes me so jealous and 4" is the perfect size for a screen. i just dont like samsungs ui (that's why we root) and i dont like the way the phone looks.

What's wrong with this "5mp" camera?
Is it because Inc has "8mp" camera and still takes terrible pictures?
If you think 8mp > 5mp always than you need to stop talking.
*Btw HTC phones take great pictures with the magnetic macro lenses, though.

this guy is right, i used to sell dslr and i can show you hundreds of cameras that take terrible pictures at over 10 mega pixels. it's all about the sensor and processor and iso rating. htc has always lacked in this part. and too high of mega pixel means it takes longer to take a pic causing a blurred pic

Ok, ok. I'm hoping the Samsung forums don't escalate like the Inc forums. Wow, Inc owners are really ticked they are "stuck".
Anyway, I'm a web developer and realize that MP is an overblown rating. Unless you are printing posters, you only need about 5MP for great photos along with other supporting features.
However, I cam from a BB Storm 1, and compared to my crappy BB 3.2MP, the Inc 8MP cam took fantastic photos.
For the 4 days my Inc actually worked, I took some photos at a family dinner and they were stunning. Everyone kept looking at my photos and the phone, and going crazy over the quality. Even those with $1000 digital cameras.
So, it is my personal opinion that the Inc took great (borderline fantastic) photos. However, I have not seen any photos from the Samsung phones, so I am not, and have never stated that they take low quality photos. I was simply stating that I wished it had a higher MP camera. I'm sure its 5MP cam, coupled with better conponents, takes great pics, especially for a cell phone.

Although Samsung did not make very good cameras, they did MAKE them.
I think they're camera should be at least comparable to HTC's.

Check out the link above, if you haven't already. I have no idea how similar or different the cameras of Inc and Evo are, but the lenses make a huge difference.

No problem. The Samsung forum is much nicer. I think its its because no one here is roped into a contract and mad about all of the awesome phones getting ready to come. SOOOOOO glad I cancelled my Inc order.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the Inc and was super excited, then my BB Storm charger fried it. Then the backorder, then another delay, and....
I loved the look and feel of the Inc. Nice phone. BUT, I'm waiting until Nov when my contract expires and see if I can maybe get a one year contract and see what is around the corner with all these new hot phones, 2.2, and LTE.
I'm not happy about being stuck with my BB Storm 1, but oh well, it's just a phone and I believe its all worked out for the better. The Samsung phones look awesome and the Fanscinate looks like an iPhone, even the camera on back. Definitely in my top 5. The Droid X is out.

This is silly.
There is no possible electronic substitute for light. It always comes at a cost.
What are you going to do in the near-pitch-black? A flash creates light. With no flash, you can only read the ambient light.
Even in dim situations, the only way a camera can compensate is by increasing the sensitivity of the sensor - substantially increasing noise - or by boosting the brightness in software after the photo is shot, also increasing noise.
A night mode might help but saying you don't need a flash because you have night mode is akin to saying you don't need internal storage because you can stream media wirelessly. Just because one can mitigate the other doesn't mean it's a real substitute.
