4.2.2 is the latest version of android currently released, and many devices don't even have it. There have been rumors of Google releasing 4.3.x soon though. So once they do, it will be sent out to the Nexus devices and then the manufacturers will get their chance to skin it and update their devices.

thanks for that, did not know nexus range would get the updates first.

that mean my NEXUS 7 will get update before my phone ?

Yep, non-carrier branded Nexus devices always get android updates first before any other device. Your S4 might get an update from Samsung beforehand, but it won't be to update android, but it could be a security or bug fix.

It's too bad Android forums don't have software built in, to handle this question.

It should automatically refer the poster, to the thousands of times the same question has been asked. Lock and throw away any new topics. Simple and handled behind the scenes.

Times change, and so do the correct answers.

Doing what you suggest wouldn't be helpful for anyone involved.
