Help When is the Razr getting ice cream sandwich?

Motorola did announce ICS for the Razr, however, to my knowledge, they haven't shared a date.

I think that we will get a 3.6 OTA in Feb then sometime spring/summer get ICS. (just what I have read, nothing formal)

3.6? Is that a new version? I have not seen it mentioned before.

stupid auto correct! 2.36 :). Although I would be happy if they just bypassed that and dumped straight to ICS, but since the 2.36 has been leaked i kind of doubt it/

I owned a Nexus for a week and I certainly hope that google does some major updates to ICS before it hits the razor. I had FC's, mystery volume level issues with calls, horrible battery life, poor keyboard accuracy, and horrible time navigating the new apps and UI of ICS.

you made it 4 more days than I did...I had it for 3 days and switched for similar reasons

lmao Wow! Yea it wasnt the slickest experience thats for sure. I think its a combination of hardware and software glitches. I personally dont think that a tablet and smartphone can run the same UI. Screen real estate is just different. Anyone, no need to make this a slam ICS post!

I agree ICS has a lot of bugs and hopefully they will be worked out by the time the razr gets it. I am getting rid of my nexus for a razr because getting updates first is nice but the radios in the nexus were really weak and had a lot of issues.

I am already on 2.36, so there is not much to wait for ;)

So says the stock Android lover... Last time I checked...Moto, HTC and Samsung improved Gingerbread with their UI's.

Thats also a pretty bold claim to say NONE of the UI/design features, functionality of ICS.. You do realize there's more to ICS than on screen buttons, right?

Anyway....to the OP, its coming. Its just a matter of when...not if..... One time I said Feb-Mar. Might have to say Mar-Apr now. Trying to guess based on when the G Nex on Verizon is getting its official ICS updates.

I believe Google is requiring stock holo theme to be included in Android 4.0 updates so that the users may be able to revert back from manufacturer's custom UI's.

The manufacturer's custom UI's made Gingerbread better in my eyes anyway, so I wouldn't mind them for ICS either.

Also, I've noticed that a lot of people in these forums compare stock ICS to custom UI'ed Gingerbread and say "Boy, those custom UI's suck!" and that really isn't a fair comparison.

As for when this phone will be getting ICS, I would say late May-June at this point since Moto delayed it from Q1 to Q2.

As far as the Razr getting ICS and what it will look like, here is some pics of the GSM version. I'm sure they have been posted by now, but......

Personally, I like the lock screen a lot.

I'm with you OTD, that lockscreen is the coolest I've seen, ROM or stock... I really hope they get ics right before they release it.... I have seen enough jacked up updates to know it ain't worth rushing. Better to wait and have it work the way it should.

Yep, updates are always a double edged sword. Everyone gets really excited while they are on the way. Then people get overly excited about their release. Eventually people start to get impatient and say, "Release it already". When it finally shows up, the slightest bug makes everyone mad.
