When you get OTA 2.2

I'm gonna laugh when the first person to get it (ACTUALLY get it) posts that they have it and everyone says "pix or it didnt happen!" rofl

I just want to know if having the leak is going to be a problem, I've heard both ways - "it will get rejected and you will not get the real 2.2", OR "the version # will be higher than the leak so it will detect you need an update"

I just want to be prepared so if I have to downgrade, I have all the proper files to do so on 2 PCs including instructions, links to threads ect. but it would be so nice if it just pushed right onto my phone with a text notification just like RIM did with BB 5.x

If you guys hold off on the 2.2 OTA, ill have a pre-rooted .zip to install (will work no matter what version your on :) )

I am currently downloading the OTA!

Checked for update and for once something was there...hopefully this works out!

So when you do get it Post here and let us know if you had to Manually do it or if it was pushed. How long did it take and if you ran into any problems.

Just now finished and my DX is up and running on 2.2. It was pushed. Had to power the phone off and on as it hung at 62% download for a few minutes. All in all about 1/2 hour.

Now I will go verify that all is well, etc.

Everything is working fine. Actually fine is a poor word choice. My DX screams now. Every app I have tried just blows. No lag where I used to see lag. Will continue to play, but if this is how this smartphone was supposed to work... wow!

Got it about an hour ago... checked for update at 12:01 eastern and it was there.

Took about 15-20 minutes to download and install. Sluggish on first boot for a while, and it took a loooong time to reload the images for contact widgets, and the first time opening the new gallery (MUCH BETTER) was painful, but now everything is much, much, much smoother. No stutter on unlock screen (new unlock/sound on-off buttons), app drawer much smoother, Quadrant is at 1475, flash apparently works.

Bad news: new stupid verizon navigator app (or was that there before?)..

Overall, I'm happy... Now to root this thing again so I can uninstall the crap-ware...

Version.2.3.15.MB810.Verizon.en.US

I went ahead and did a soft reset after a few minutes because it was feeling sluggish at first. I think it just needs time to finish the "housekeeping" from the update.

Weird thing is that it isn't USB charging in PC mode any more...Though it will charge in mass storage, Windows Sync mode, and charge Charge only...

Actually.... turned of USB debugging, and now it's charging in PC mode... weird.

Some really nice touches done on Froyo!! A few things in settings like the new app manager/battery settings, all cool stuff!! I'll be playing with this for a while to check everything out!

Got mine at 1am in Central PA, I am a rooted user, and am hoping the 1-click root method still works. More crapware? Verizon Navigator? REALLY Verizon? REALLY?

I'm staring at the Eye of Droid. It's booted!

Omg, the notification beep is much louder. Yea!

LauncherPro is slowly loading my widgets. Sheesh. Can't wait to try flash...

Looking at Settings - there is Voice Recognizer settings now for different accents! How cool, and now we have the choice to censor obscenities or not. Remember how when you would use a four-letter word in an SMS it would censor it? lol.

Two things I've noticed so far:
1. Swype looks different and is more responsive
2. Everything is so so so fast
3. The stock camera app takes pictures in low light so much better now

If we rooted via Universal Androot, we'll have root once we're done upgrading, right? I checked my /bin/ folder and my su file was there, but an identical file was also in /xbin/. Am I good to go? lol
