Where can I buy it outright?

I'm currently an unhappy Blackberry user with Rogers 1 year into a 3 year contract.

I'd like to buy the Galaxy Nexus outright and plug my Rogers sim card in.

Only problem is where can I buy it in December outright with no contract?

Future shop says you need to sign a contract.

I could wait until January for Rogers to get it, but I'd rather not give them any more money.

It's all relative, what do you think they should cost?

unlocked they are 650 (usd) so technically they are getting a 100 buck premium for importing them and getting them before they would otherwise be available to us. expansys has coupon codes out there as well.

True, I would imagine no more than $700 CAD based on the price of other new devices.

I spoke with Bell and I think I'll pick one up there outright, sign up for a month to month contract and then cancel it after a month.

Bell is selling it for $650

If you don't mind my asking, how much did you get it for, and from which seller? I'm looking around for one. Handtec has the cheapest price I can find so far, but I may wait on the Canadian release and import it from there.

Yes. All models are pentaband. Buy one anywhere in the world and it'll work on any GSM network.

Does anyone know if the unlocked versions get the same 4G AT&T data speeds as the current Samsung Galaxy SII (or any other 4g ATT phones) in the US? I read on one of the ad's that we should not expect 3g service..

the GSM version will do HSPA, but not LTE 4G. The have all frequencies needed

I am assuming you mean HSPA + 4g speeds, and it should be able to get that with AT&T just like the international Galaxy S II can. But it wont be able to get LTE 4g, which only two phones for ATT currently do.
