where in ROM Manager is it? all I can find is the OTA update of 2.2
I've avoided 2.2 OTA

Am I missing something?

I've spent another couple hours reading and I'm still lost.

The stock update is not the OTA it is 2.3.9.
Or that is what is was before the OTA came out and I have not seen anywhere that it has been changed.

this is what I was nervous about. I didn't want to inadvertently "upgrade" to the official 2.2.
what you're saying is that the rom manager 2.2 is really froyo leak 2.3.9?

yeah, under Download ROM -> Stock Images -> Verizon Droid X 2.2 ... that is 2.3.9

note: your phone must not be themed, and has to have all the original bloatware before installing. if you're rooted, move su from system/bin to /xbin first, and you will keep your root.

The only way to end up with the offical OTA is to download the OTA. Even if you were to use the blackglass that is 2.3.15 and deodexes your phone it will not do anything other than system stuff. It does not updgrade you bootloader.

And yes that was the orignal leak that is in the rom manger and to the best of my knowledge it still is.
