Root Where did my RAM go?

I decided to wipe out my phone and install a new ROM. I used TWRP and erased cache, system, data, all that good stuff. I reinstalled the RageLTE ROM and noticed that it was only showing that I had 777 megabytes of RAM available total. So I went ahead and erased everything again and installed the 3.17 stock ROM and it's still showing me that my system only has 777 megabytes of RAM total. Where did it go?

depending on the rom, the phone only has 1g of ram. keep in mind that most of the ram will get taken up by the system partition(your rom).......so i would not worry about it too much as your apps will get stored on your internal sd card while your cache and dalvik cache will reside on your ram.

did you wipe dalvik cache as well?

Part of it is reserved for the GPU and part of it is reserved for memory mapped i/o.

Your PC either has a GPU board with its own ram, or a GPU controller on the motherboard that may (will in the case of some Intel GPUs) take system ram.

Same thing here, all Snapdragon processors do it, there's no separate GPU board (obviously lol).

No ram is lost.

It's just allocated to hardware and the operating system first, then apps.

Just like a pc.

The tool reporting is just trying to be honest about what's allocated for runtime software.

Hope this helps.
