Where do downloads save to

[StreetScholar]

Hello all, I'm a bit confused about the storage of this phone. Going to the task manager Summary section displays Program, Personal data, Internal SD card, External SD card all with different amounts of data. How do I know where programs I download (or are already running on the phone) store to? Is there an advantage in one destination over another?

Thank you.

I believe downloads go to a "downloads" folder on the SD card
