where do I get a 3G/4G data plan for this device?

I spent the last week trying to get a data only plan or at least a mostly data oriented plan. AT&T refused to let me sign up for a data only plan without adding on like $40 of voice, and they won't let me sign up for a tablet plan either...

I looked through a list of MVNOs here in the U.S., and it seems that all of the ones which offer data oriented plans are all T-Mobile affiliated. I haven't been able to find a single AT&T one which offers a decent amount of data (like 1GB minimum) without requiring me to pay $40+ and get unlimited voice/text with it.

Does anyone have ideas / things that I missed?

Yeah in the US T-Mobile and AT&T are your only choices. Straight talk offers a sim card that uses AT&T towers with unlimited everything (2GB of data) for $45. You have to order it online. That may be your best bet.

T-Mobile 3G doesn't work on this phone, unfortunately. I had a $40 unlimited data plan with T-Mobile but was only getting edge speeds.

All of the MVNOs I found which offer data oriented plans (simple mobile, GSM mobile) are T-Mobile affiliated for some reason.

I was hoping to do this as well but it seemed not meant to be. These carriers are full of it dude. If it's unsubsidized we should have the freedom to use it as we choose. I'd rather have my note as data only and just use a pay as you go flip phone or something for calls (which are very very rare)
