Where do you get apps?

I have an Optimus V. Is the Android Market that is on the desktop of this phone the same as Google Play?

Are there multiple places to get apps?

Also, any idea why the main Android Market screen has been showing "loading: for the last 15 minutes?

But when I click the magnifying glass I can search for an app.

Yes.

Google Play
Amazon AppStore
GetJar

Those are trusted sources. There are also other markets or ways to download apps. I personally only get apps from the Play Store or directly from the developer on sites like here or XDA.

So do you think the reviews are accurate on those sites? Or is it like Northern Tool's website where, I swear, the vast majority of reviews must be written in house.

It seems there are a lot of apps that claim to do the same thing. It can be difficult to decide which one to use.

I feel most of the reviews are useless. You have to read through a few to get reviews that are helpful. I read way to many 5 star reviews where all they say is "Best app ever". Or on the flip side you will see a 1 star review and all it'll say is "garbage" or "can't get it to work".
