Where do you get your music

Do you guys prefer to buy on itunes and switch it over or do you just use the market.... Or do you just buy cds?
 
I buy mine from Amazon Music online. I haven't tried to buy any since I've had an Android.

I have gotten some from iTunes when it first came out and convert to mp3 format or burn to cd disc. Pepsi Cola had a win a "free song" bottle cap promotion at the time, I guess I got around 20 songs doing it.

I convert my old cd:s and i buy cd:s. I also use spotify premium.

I have never downloaded anything pirated, my grandma told me not to steal, and i think people should be paid for their work. I would be pretty angry if someone decided to just keep my paycheck..

I do, but there is a tendency that younger people than my generation download music, games, programs etc. excusing it all with "information wants to be free". Apparently music
and all other things are "information ". I don't agree with them. Many also expect all things on the net to be free, which is unrealistic and stupid.

Things have gone that far that i, who buy audiobooks on cd:s to my dyslective son now have some trouble to find interesting new titles, six producing companies has closed down in 2 years, due to that people pirated their audiobooks. Only a few companies left, struggling.
Thanks to these folks... Really thank you for killing audiobooks.

I also listen to some music via youtube.. :o

Didn't you used to borrow records from your friends and neighbours and record mixtapes with them, or record mixtapes from your own records and give them to friends? Maybe taping songs from the radio instead of actually going out and buying the records with your pocket money? I certainly did, I didn't think it was wrong until I was older.

Is Audible or Amazon struggling? I always thought they were very successful and profitable.

Now I like audiobooks, many of my English speaking Chinese friends like them as well for listening practise. However English audiobook retail sites appear to be United States only and have nasty DRM, e.g. Audible and Amazon, which basically means I have to bit-torrent them. Is there any other choice for me? TBH it seems the audiobook industry is killing itself with this silly US only nonsense and nasty Digital Restrictions Management

I know there are a few free audiobook sites, that have old public-domain/out of copyright books like Charles Dickens, Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen etc. But that's not what I want to read.
 
Actually english is a second language for me, and find audiobooks in my native is getting really hard now. Mixtapes for my walkman were made from mine and my siblings records, that we actually paid for.
I'm not trying to be a moral saint here, i am just fascinated at the phenomen, that many just take for granted that piracy is ok, and that stuff is absolutely free for anyone to grab.

AND YOU AREN'T FORCED TO USE A BLOATED, UNNECESSARY PROGRAM (looks at iTunes). And you can stream to your Android device as well. Well, when Verizon's network and my phone want to cooperate. 256 kbps really strains that 3G.

Can also strain a meagre 3GB-5GB monthly data allowance as well. Unless one has a truely unlimited data plan, NO asterisks *.

No issue if you have an unlimited data plan. And i mean "unlimited". No asterisks. I use Iheartradio as i refuse to pay for music. But i also do not condone piracy. I use ST and after 3 years of heavy heavy data use not so much as a phone call. Im talkin 10gb per month average downloading torrents...lol
 
I'll admit that I used "other means" to get my music. But, if I end up "obtaining" a cd that I actually like, I go pay for it.
To me, it's like test driving a car. I'm not going to buy a car before I test drive it. And the 30 second samples that iTunes offers just aren't enough.
 
i am an extreme newbie to an android....i have a samsung exhibit 2 is it possible to use rhapsody with it ? and HOW? also.........i put in an sd card, mounted it, but how do i get music from WMP to the card/phone. Sorry if these questions are ridiculously silly to some of you, but we all start somewhere right? thanks...........DML
