Where do you keep you Gnex while driving?

I bought one of these for my Nexus S and now use it for the Galaxy Nexus:

I love the non-permanent install and it does a great job holding the phone. My 12V DC plug is directly below so it's not in the way at all. It's quality made as well, not a cheap POS. I like it.
 
I used to keep my phones on my lap but after a couple of months ago I got out of the car with my iPhone 4 still on my lap and it fell onto the pavement (thank goodness for the bumper!) I decided not to chance it anymore. Now I keep between my leg and the seat bolster, on the passenger side. Doing that has led to me forgetting my phone in the car but better safe than sorry. Isn't there a 3 pin dock for the GSM phone? Would that work with ours?
 
So I emailed Tetrax 'cause the little metal discs that came with it didn't have sufficient adhesive. They're sending me some for free but the jelly cases I ordered won't arrive until AFTER Christmas (boo hoo lol) so I'll have to wait for its full awesomeness.
 
Passenger's seat. I have one of the cheap cases. I bought it because it's only a matter of time before I drop the phone. As a bonus, it prevents it from sliding around.
 
im glad the majority of people are safe drivers when it comes to that, we dont want any fatalities! always be safe and responsible while driving with a cell phone!
 
I use this also which I originally bought for EVO. Don't you find the volume controls little bit odd though it's more in the middle for Galaxy nexus. So you can't really place your phone directly in the center without the volume getting messed around with. Otherwise, I love this holder fits perfectly into CD player.

Should also mention that, assuming we have a 3-pin dock one day, I'll be mating it to a vent-mount (somehow), not putting it on the windshield (an AC vent to the right of the steering wheel is the perfect place, IMO). I had my Droid 1 sitting in the original Moto car 'dock', but mounted to an AC vent-mount; never used the windshield mount. People getting in my car would always comment on how much better of a setup that was.

Here's what I do. W/ a short USB cable going to the lighter socket for charging. I don't like the idea of putting the phone in front of a vent. It gets cold here and I don't want heat blasting my phone.

It's in the cup holder or center console, when charging (very nice to have the charge port on the bottom vs the side, btw). Any other time, it's in my pocket or bag.

Update!

Got my Cimo Jelly back case. Affixed the other included Tetrax disc to it and it works like a charm. Have the phone now mounted to the right of the steering wheel.

Only bad thing is in the car I use one of those dual USB cigarette lighter adapters and then two USB cables, one mini to my TomTom GPS and the other to my Samsung. The Droid X used to charge fairly fast (even with an extended battery) but the Nexus charges painfully slow. (I think the last estimate I noticed was 6-7 hours for a full charge ;P)

My question is...should I use an official Verizon mobile charger with the passthrough USB. Is it likely my Griffin PowerJolt Dual isn't 1amp out?

My problem is that the GNex has a really slippery backing. I used to keep my Droid X on the passenger's seat and it wouldn't move. The GNex slides around like crazy. I don't like phone mounts, any other solutions you guys use.

if u dont like mounts then u can try those non slip strips.

Well, I received the Wilson Electronics Sleek signal booster today.

First the good. I went from 2 bars to 4 bars instantly with the phone in it. I'll figure out how to check the actual signal later tonight.

Now the bad. One of the bottom rests sits immediately over the headphone jack. I'm considering just cutting it off (phone will still be secure), but not until I head out to our ranch this weekend and see if it really boosts the signal enough to justify keeping it. Adjusting the site clips either way doesn't free this up enough to expose the jack.



The volume buttons just barely clear the left clip. Not the easiest access... but nothing that would be a major problem. The power button clears by a lot.



Now the side clips (using the medium-sized ones) don't extend immediately over the screen at any point, yet it does make it a little difficult to hit the letters on both edges of the keyboard.



I have the Diztronic case on the phone. If you had a larger case such as an Otterbox, typing probably wont be hindered as much.

Also I was under the impression it came with a vent mount, but it only comes with an adhesive mount. It will swivel 360 degrees.

Final thoughts: As a signal booster it seems to work great, especially when only $85 from Amazon. As a car dock, I dislike it. Between the rest covering the headphone jack and the clips somewhat inhibiting typing, it doesn't fit the Nexus as well as I'd like. I'm thinking of returning it and getting the adjustable Pro Clip (pictured below). However there's an area at my cabin where I get great bars but can rarely connect... if this allows a good connection I may keep it.

I took my usb port out of my DroidX mount and have it on the dash of my tundra. I like that it has an adjustable arm and elbow so it kind of hangs off the edge of the dash in a good spot to see.

I keep it on top of the center console. Biggest problem is that the phone reboots all the time while using pandora and sirius.... I hope it gets fixed soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!
