Help Where is Car Dock Home?

HockeyMom19

I have a 'dock' in my car for my Droid 3, but it is a generic one and doesn't have a magnet. My LG Ally had a 'Car Home' app I could run. I can't find anything like that on my Droid 3. Is there a way to start this app without a magnet?

First off, the Droid 3 is triggered by a board built into the docks. It's no longer a magnet like the D1 and D2.

Here's how to get to the Car Dock app.

You will need LauncherPro installed.
1) Go to your home screen.
2) Add -> Shortcuts -> Activities
3) CarDock -> SmartMode

You now have a link to the car home on your homescreen.

Your directions worked, but I didn't want to switch over to Launcher Pro so I figured out this other method that seems to work also.

These instructions worked using "GO Launcher EX" launcher, but this could work for others. I did a search in the market for an application that could create shortcuts to activities - QuickShortcutMaker was the first I found, I am sure there are others.

1) Install "QuickShortcutMaker" ( Market Link at the end of these directions )
2) Run "QuickShortcutMaker"

3a) Car Dock: Scroll down to the section with the "CarDock" options and choose the one that has "SmartMode".
or
3b) Desk Dock: Scroll down and find "Desk Home" there should only be one option, choose it

You may get a Force Close, but so far I have been able to ignore that without impact.
