Help Where is my internal memory???

coop2112

Lurker
All the specs on the web say that the HTC Evo 4G has 1 gig of internal memory but on mine when I go to setting>applications>manage applications at the bottom of the screen it says 356MB used/70MB free which equals 426MB. Where's my other 574MB???

Welcome coop2112!:)
Most of it is hogged up by the OS, data, and bloatware put on it by Sprint etc.
The rest is for downloaded apps etc.
Unfortunately, not all 1GB is for app downloads:(

I've read that it has 4 gig with 1 gig available to the user and the other 3 used up by the os and phone. Oh well. No matter I guess. If it ain't there it ain't there. Frustrating. Trying to avoid spending on a new phone. Guess it's useless, probably by design by sprint. Blood suckers. I think I'm about to give Republic Wireless a try. $20 a month for unlimited everything. Only thing is crappy phone. Motorola Defy XT which is nearly exact same specs as the Evo 4G.

No, I was getting not enough memory messages but cleaned it up and it went away. I could live with it like it is. I don't really need that much memory but I got a little obsessed with it. It finally dawned on me that the only way I will ever save any real money is to switch plans cuz if I keep the phone I still got the $100/month sprint bill and all the big phone companies are the same so... I wanna try Republic Wireless but they got a waiting list and I've heard nothing. $100/month just seems ridiculous to me. They got us all by the nads.
