Help Where is the Google Settings icon on Android?

jo69

Android Enthusiast
Hi i want to access the Google Settings to click Ads and stop getting ads related to my browsing.

But cant seem to find the icon in my Apps to click on.
I have Android 5.0.2

If you don't have a separate Google Settings app (and haven't hidden it - check in Settings > Apps > All to be sure) do you have a Google settings section in your main Settings?

In apps settings i have what is on the pic i have uploaded. No icon anywhere to click on for google settings

You can:
  1. Open the Google app on your Android device .
  2. Touch Menu > Search settings.
  3. Touch the setting you want to change.

Oh, that's a Tablet. I'll have to wait until I get off work to find it on my Note 10.1. It's too big to bring to work. But meanwhile... Did markK's suggestion work?

The problem is the same on my asus memo pad 10 and my lg gpad 8.0 and my lg g3 phone.
Cannot find an icon for google app

Not doing very well am i lol

Do you mean google Now Mark?
Cant find anything there

All searching google online tells me is ..... Open App drawer and click on the Google Settings icon. But it is not there.
Checked and it isnt hidden. Its not on my 2 tablets or my phone.

See if you can find Google Dashboard. I use a computer for it. There should be settings for all of Google's offerings in there.
I know there is an ad specific one in Dashboard.

Know it doesn't help but I've had Google Settings on my devices since version?? Can't remember.
My app drawer :

Have you maybe disabled it? (on lollipop: Settings, Applications, scroll across to Disabled and see if it's there)
And I think Zuben is right about Google dashboard. Try that (although why anyone would want ads that arent targeted to their interests is beyond me but each to their own) :thumbsupdroid:

Once logged into dashboard, tap "personal info and privacy" at top left

then tap the 3bar menu button at top left and you should see "ads settings"

Scroll down to "manage ad settings"

Thank you Funky
That worked really well for the Ads problem

But still want to be able to open Google Settings on my phone & Tablets.
To do various other things. Including Android Device Manager.
I'm missing something somewhere lol

You are sure you've not hidden it from the app drawer? Check your launcher's settings.

In the App Manager shot (third screenshot) you are showing downloaded apps. If there's not been any update it's not going to be there, but it should be in "All" apps.

It's not in the app manager anyway - and something is up with the app drawer.

The app drawer isn't showing most of the Google Apps installed in any case - so it's not showing all apps.

I'd bet that is the problem. Change the app drawer view to show all.

Changed it to show All.

App drawer is when you hit that lil button at bottom of your home screen that shows all your apps n let's you launch them.
App manager is in Settings where you can see all your apps but can't launch them, only "force stop" etc.
ALL of your installed apps should be in app manager under the ALL tab :thumbsupdroid:

Thanks folks for making App Drawer and APP Manager clear to me.

App Drawer Menu. When I click Hide Show Apps all that comes up is a little checkbox by each one to delete.
It seems very strange as cannot access Google Settings on all 3 of my gadgets
Also noticed Google App is in the App Manager But not in the App drawer to click on.

Also Shouldn't Google+ be in the App Drawer to?
