Root Where is the love!!!

we peobably gonna be running cm7 when everybody ealse is running cm15 or something like that..maybe even greater since they already on cm9..lol....i think we should start a bounty...that way will bring devs more attention to this cwm7 thing....im sure if everybody tip in 20 bucks...by the ends should be sufficient to get this done, the indulge comunity its pretty big just here in this site...didnt want to have to go there but, since its alot of work and since its alot of people making fast demans....people should tip in a few bucks,if everybody that likes to play around with the phone does this, im sure the bounty should be big enought to get them going...and im pretty sure they already have something done,is just a matter of taking the time off from whatever they other projects are and spending some more time in here...but has to be a 2 way thing...if everybody colaborate enought we should be able to start seen faster progress, more updates,etc...is this a bad idea?....the question is....if everybody starts the bounty will we have progress coming sooner? and how long maybe are we talking about once that bounty reaches a fair price?

Problem is that it seems the devs don't have an interest in our phone at all. Yea k0nane made basix and electric sheep for us, but the buck stops there. Basix came out so long ago, i honestly do not think we are getting an update. Playfulgod worked on our phone for what, 3 or 4 weeks, bricked the phone, then ran for the door. Never seen again lol.

There was a bounty thread for our phone on xda, developers still skimmed right past us.

Also, I'm in no way trying to insult any of the devs. Especially k0nane and his guys. Thanks to his work, we at least have SOMETHING. I just really believe he is done with our platform.

To be honest I'm happy with the phone the way it is, with basix and electric sheep anyway. I do miss a few features from cm7 though.

Well it was my fault he bricked the phone. He wasn't even working on CM7 then. I needed him to test a leaked version of GB. Which in turn came out officially a day after I posted the leaked one. :(

In all seriousness though. A bounty might work, or we could all try and learn.

I start school for programming next week. I have been teaching myself with the use of google. There is too much info out there on this it gets confusing. If someone could piont me to the best resources I will try my best. Using windows 7

we had a bounty before there was Basix. I'm positive that k0nane didnt receive everyone's supposed donation. that right there will turn off devs if they care to look it up.

I've received a few donations, but I definitely didn't get the bounty by any means. Still, I didn't come for the money, and I'm not worried about it. Any true dev wouldn't be worried, either. It's about the open-source community.

This is a good point. It's easy enough for anyone to say they are willing to donate to a developer to.spend some time on a device.

Sadly it's also easy enough for those same people to download and use said devs hard work after the fact and not send a penny of that promised donation.

That being said, I do have a job, I'm not a child, and I would be willing to donate something for a cm7 or a gb port. I won't promise the world and say 100 bucks, but at least 25 - 50.

I'd think ics on our device is unlikely. I'm positive it would run, but I'm sure it would be quite a bit more complicated to port, judging by how long it's taking the cyanogen team to port ics to their supported devices. They are making great progress though. I've built a couple ics roms for nook color using fattire's compiling walk through and sources. Good learning experience and quite fun.
