where are the new Roms and cyanogen mod!!? makes sad this phone is thrown in the corner when it has soo much potential of being a great phone.:(
 
I know the feeling i decided to become proactive but so much to learn. ive only just scratched the surface but i'm hungry.
 
I was going to make a thread right now stating the same thing... where's the love??? Its been a year now since this thing came out. Did everybody just move on over to the esteem?
 
This is what is to be expected because when you make a business model like cell phones the ultimate plan is to keep people spending money and the one way to do this is to make them upgrade by purchasing a new phone. It's just like @pple's crap introduce the eyephone then a year down the road add a few more great features and then after that keep doing the same thing over and over till you get the product the way it should have been the first time it rolled out. Same with android, make to many damn phones so people end up making a choice then 3 months down the road come out with a better phone so they end up buying that one as-well because the first one didn't suit their ultimate needs. Why can't the phone market make a phone that has all the latest and greatest tech at the time and not release another version until technology surpasses it. And what I mean by this is why not make a phone great the first damn time and leave it alone for a while that way people don't end up feeling ripped off.

Also wasn't android made open source so it would be easier for the company's and providers to update their phones to the latest software? Why the hell even make a phone if your not going to give your customers updates to something they invested their hard earned money into?
Maybe businesses would make more money if they invested more of their own into their products that way more people would feel like the product is worth the money.

Because technology just doesnt work that way. Whats great today can very well be obsolete tomorrow. With apple they have one phone, as technology improves n progresses they work on their next version. With Android you have dozens of manufacturers making phones to fit a variety of price markets, thus you have highend phones with the latest n greatest tech and lowend phones with last years tech.

The indulge is a freak when compared to any other phone in its class or any other for that matter. It was slung together poorly, feels cheap, and the tech it has was obsolete when it came out. Samsung hasnt done another phone like they did the indulge, thus its a pita to dev for, not to mention its really a pofs compared to other phones.

I could not agree more with this. I am glad that my best friend gave me her indulge when she bought the esteem because Id be kicking myself in the ass If I actually bought it. Its a decent phone and I will probably give it to my mother, for me its time to move on.

yup true that, am going to wait for the lg connect that baby is a dual core:)
 
So the indulge has seen the end of the road then huh? Crazy... I've seen worse phones then this with more roms...cdma htc hero...huawei ascend... just to name a few

True true, just really blowing off some steam, but when you blow off steam you always sound arrogant when you come back and read what you wrote mad lol. I just hate wasting money on something that you would think would at least have updates until the year warranty ran out. Phones are just to expensive to go out and buy another one, or get stuck in a contract. Sorry if I offended any of you, just mad at the way business works in the real world.

No, it was open-sourced (sort of) so that manufactures would want to use it on their handsets (no licensing fees). They only have to supply Google with a handset for testing (and pay a small fee?) to have it certified if they want to ship it with Google Apps installed (Market, Gmail, Maps, etc).

I really like how far we've come and I enjoy my phone I won't be jumpping off the boat any time soon. I don't do break ups easy. ;)
 
I sit in on the Epic CM dev channel. They have their hands full, else I'd invite them to get you guys something.
