I uninstalled it like a week ago now, but I don't remember many force-closes...

I dunno. When it first happened, I'd had the phone for almost a month and had installed/uninstalled a few apps here & there in that time, so I'm sure it's possible.

Not sure when I'll be able to stop by a "repair" store, but I have this thread open in its own tab so rest assured I will update...
 
I've uninstalled my anti virus app and haven't had the problem since. If you have that app you may want to try that. I've been good about a week with no closes/deletions!

I've had some problems with duplicate texts in the past, but did a couple hard resets and haven't had any problems since...have you tried hard resetting your phone yet?
 
Well, here I am a few weeks later and I still have all my texts using the stock app. Hmmm...

Still doesn't ****ing VIBRATE, though! I may just do a hard reset anyway, see if that does it.
 
check out back up sms. I have ALL my text backed up daily on my sd card. I just did an evo replacement and restored all my old text on my new phone:)
 
I am so pissed, this just happened to me. 3,000+ messages erased, i have some backed up but have not done a backup in a couple of weeks. Has anyone figured out a way to fix this? I dont want to have to do a full restore. And i was using handcent, it was downloading a picture mail, the app did not crash, but when i tired to open the picture it said file does not exists, went back and everything was erased. I know handcent uses the stock app for retrieving, so that must of crashed.
