Where to get a good battery?

hi everyone.. please advise whats a good place to buy a good new battery for my s3?

Any direct links / sites?

Thank you...

I've been looking for a good battery also. I can't seem to find one. Amazon has many batteries, but after reading some of the reviews, it seems you never know what you might get.

What's the worst of it? You spend about $10-$20 for a battery that will perform equally or better.

One thing I've learned over the years from those reviews is to take them with a grain of salt. I've noticed a lot of the reviewers are technically challenged so they give a bad review because they don't know what they are doing.

I've tried a number of third party batteries and battery chargers over the years, both from Amazon and eBay. Even if they work initially, they never seem to last very long. I now just buy the official Samsung batteries and charger. I find them on Amazon. They are more expensive, but they work and continue working.

I bought a 2200mAh Anker battery from Amazon over a year ago as spare battery and it performs and lasts pretty well the same as the stock one.

I'd buy another in a heartbeat if needed.

I purchased a battery by Onite for my Samsung Transform Ultra. My son is still using it and it's over 2 years old now. The original Samsung battery died after it was just over a year old. I'd gladly purchase one of their batteries again vs OEM.

if you gotta buy a battery i would go with the zerolemon its a bigger battery but will last you two - four days depending on how much u use your phone this battery is also sold on amazon.

Amazon.com: [180 days warranty] ZeroLemon Samsung Galaxy S III 7000mAh Extended Battery + Free Black Extended TPU Full Edge Protection Case(Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S III GT-i9300, AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 Samsung i747, Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3

+1 on that Zerolemon battery bro. It may add a little extra weight but it's all worth it IMO. Zerolemon also makes a rugged case for the phone. It is made for the 7000mAh battery but can also be used with a stock battery. Its very nice being able to use my phone the way I want to. Whether it be listening to music, taking pictures, surfing the Internet, or playing games. That Zerolemon battery gives me the freedom to do so. :D:thumbup:

Have you tried the Onite for the GS3?

Do you have any issues taking pictures with that case? (the eyelet? for the camera is kinda deep and I thought that might cause a problem)

I am thinking about getting that battery and case and maybe using my GS3 for another 18-24 months or so. The larger screens on the S4/S5 or Note are nice...but I'm thinking if my GS3 had a 7000mAh battery and KitKat (w/root of course) then I don't really NEED an upgraded phone.

I've got the zl for my older s3, the only problems with it is nfc is hit and miss sometimes. Camera is definitely not affected.

Whoa...actually impressed w/Amazon. Ordered it 5/13, expected delivery date was 5/19 and I got it today.

Got the 7000 mAh battery with the Zerolemon Midnight Black / Viper Black Zero Shock Series for Samsung Galaxy S3 S III I9300 - Covers All Battery Sizes - Worlds Onl

It is a VERY similar look and feel as the Otterbox defender...with one exception...the screen protector (IMO) is junk; responsive and smooth it is not. Took that right off. I'm not a fan of screen protectors anyway.

Giving this baby a full charge and will cycle through as the vendor recommends. I know there was a thread re: the ZL 7000mAh battery here on AF, I'll post an "after-action" report there if I find it, here if I don't. :D

And re: bulkiness...like I said...it is very similar to the Otterbox Defender...with a LITTLE more weight. IMO its not all that intrusive.

I recently just purchased this Galaxy S3 battery for my mom and it works right out of the box, didn't even need to charge it first. So far so good. As mentioned by PJR, for under $10, you can't go wrong. I have Prime so I got it shipped free and in 1 day.

"Why not just spend $2 more on OEM? This is sold by Amazon as long as you add the correct one....blah, blah, blah".

It's my understanding that there IS no such thing as "Amazon", the vendor. Isn't Amazon just a collection of vendors flying the Amazon flag....riding the Amazon train?

As someone else points out, because of this, you never really know the source of products ON Amazon. (as opposed to FROM Amazon!)

Amazon offers items that are sold and shipped by them, so no they aren't just a collection of vendors.

This is an old thread and I know i
I recommended one in a post above but I won't buy another OEM battery from them though. I bougt a supposed OEM battery for a HTC One SV from them. First charge it swelled up and got real fat and cracked screen.

I'm still having good luck with my Anker battery but that's a reputable brand as I've bought other batteries and charging accessories made by them.
