Root Where to start withthis mess?

I am rooted, But i wanted to take it off. To learn the phone. I placed the old PG05IMG file back on the card. The RUU file that you rename.
I flashed it. It said that it was older than the file and wouldnt update. I thought that file would take me back to turn S-on. (which it did.) But also stuck the phone in boot mode.

I tried to restart phone and it is stuck on boot screen. I tried to update it and place files manually on the SD card and hoped the boot would catch, But it just loops. Everything is on the screen. Hboot, recovery Bootloader, etc. Just nothing lets me in the phone. I cant even shut down phone. It starts up again.

What can I do to get it to stock again? Is there a way to put it in Download mode and push files? ADB wont read because the phone wont start. Im really mad at myself.
 
Thanks. I have one of those files. It didnt work, So, I guess I need to try the other. I am manually placing them on my SD. Then hitting the power button to flash them on Boot loader. Is that correct?

You need to follow the directions in full from the first link. Then once you are back to stock without root, you can re-do the root process.
 
Does it want me to copy and paste through ADB? I can not get to that. The loop wont let me. Im just stuck on the bootloader screen
 
Are you able to get into recovery? If so, restore your most recent working nandroid. You did create one, correct?
 
I can only get to the screen with the options. When i click Bootloader.. It tries to load the PG05 file thats not even on my card. And reads cant read file as it scrolls.

If i push Recovery, It goes to HTC screen, Then back to Security warning screen.
FastBoot in red. other options below.

Factory Reset.. Does the same as Recovery when i press it.

Didnt press Simlock

HBoot USB. makes a noise over and over like the usb is connected when plugged in to cpu.

Power Down. I push this. It powers down half way and powers on again by itself, Back to previous screen.
 
if you want to return to stock, follow this link. it will restore your phone to out of the box status. download the file rename it to PG05IMG.zip and hold the volume button on your phone down while powering on. it will automatically flash the ruu and you will be good to go.
i just did this last night as i had to exchange my phone today.

It just keeps getting better! I can not charge the phone. The battery died. I plug it in the wall and it stays lit on the boot loader screen. If i power down, It starts back up to that screen. Eventually it will turn that screen off, because the intial charge of plugging it in wears off quickly. So it is always draining the juice its trying to put in.

I need a wall charger or something to get this battery up. Or just buy another battery. As soon as I think it might have enough juice to push files, It does the first step and says, Battery voltage too low, Power off.

It charged all night and never gained an ounce of any kind of percentage in battery. Battery doesnt even get warm. I GIVE UP!
 
you could take the battery to a store and have them put it in a phone and charge it for you. im not sure what you would tell them as to why your phone wont charge it,without admitting that you rooted it,tho :eek:

if you were thinking of buying an extended battery now might be a good time to go ahead and do it. :D

last and not least,there existed a dock for the eris that you could charge the phone and 2 extra batteries. you might see if something like this exists for the tbolt so you could cahrge just the battery.

where are you located? if you were anywhere close to dayton,ohio i would offer to charge it for you in my phone.

i read about a usb cable hack for the droid X that basically you cut an end off of a usb cable and stuck the wires under the battery contacts so that the usb cable would actually power the phone. i have no idea how safe this would be for a thunderbolt,so that would definately not be my first choice in fixes. i thot i would mention it,im not by any means reccomending it as a good idea.

Not to sound like a dick or anything but this is why you should read the various threads before messing with your phone.:rolleyes:
 
Make sure when u get a battery or charge ur battery that u rename the image to PG05IMG so that the bootloader will read the img correct...
