(stupid bloody... I logged in, had a nice, detailed post carefully written, and when I submitted it I was told I wasn't logged in any longer!)
So, the short version:
Desire Froyo 2.2. Mod completed which causes apps to install to SD if they can. Perhaps 20 apps, ~ 50MB total, prolly less, on phone 'cause they won't go to SD.
Despite my best efforts, I keep running out of room enough to get the "low space" icon. Each time I do a big clearing of cache everywhere I can find it, gain back space, but not quite as much as before. This last time, my best efforts were insufficient to clear the icon until I started uninstalling apps, which sucks, because there's no fluff. I want and use all the apps I have on it.
Clearing out the data in Facebook and Facebook for HTC Sense did give me enough space - for now - but still didn't clear out the Facebook friends which have appeared in my "people search" - I wouldn't mind if they could go poof.
Does the Kindle App load books to the phone? I didn't seem to get any space back when I archived all but the book I am currently reading.
I'm trying to avoid uninstalling Angry Birds, which is the only game app on my phone.
My other "bigger" apps in order are Gmail, Kindle, WeatherBug, Astro, and the Market (2.66MB for the market),
I do have Apps2SD and Astro File Manager, just not sure how to better use Astro to control my space problems.
Any help is appreciated!
[edit] Okay, so after perusing additional threads on this, I managed to clear out to 17MB of space, thought "yay". A few minutes later, the icon's back and I'm down to 13.5MB. I find a bit more space clearing cache in small apps I've never really opened, get it up to about 15.5, and reboot the phone. Now it's down below 15. WTF?
