Root Which 4.3 ROM?

Titanium backup wouldn't restore. The ear piece wouldn't work during calls except when on speaker mode. I was only running it for a few minutes before I decided to restore my backup. I just didn't expect that from an official CM rom because I've never had problems with a CM nightly on a nexus device. Not bashing anyone I was just seeing if anyone else was having issues.

Not taking it as bashing at all! :)

I'd the same issue with TB not restoring on PA when I upgraded to 4.3, it's to do with the way 4.3 handles permissions/security or something (I can't remember).

This sorted it for me:

1. Change the backup path in TB to storage/emulated/legacy
2. Download and Terminal Emulator and enter the following:
Code:
su
busybox chown -R 1023.1023 /data/media/*

Not sure about the ear piece thing though, sorry.

Are you using the LTE hack? From what I remember, CM10.2 nightlies don't have the audio fix that comes with using that hack.

As for me, I've moved onto the 08/19 Carbon nightly. I really like it so far, though I'm still dealing with kernel wakelocks no matter which rom or kernel I have.

Both of those fixes solved my problems thank you guys! I haven't tried any kernels on 4.3 besides what comes already in CM. I did try Franco actually and it force closed a ton of stuff so I didn't try any more lol

Glad you sorted it. :)

Was the kernel from the same build as the ROM?

You have to be careful to make sure the kernels match the build of the ROM. If using a JSS ROM, make sure you're using a JSS kernel and like with JWR builds/kernels.

I read in the Faux Kernel thread on XDA that PA is tricky when it comes to custom kernels, since they've meshed code from both JWR and JSS. Definitely a case where you want to nandroid before trying anything.

I rarely use stuff like Faux/Franco as I've always found the PA kernels give me the best battery life/screen quality.

When things start becoming stable, is Faux worth a go? His kernels were always pretty good on my One X (although I'm not a massive fan of UV).

I'm using m21 with carbon rom and it seems pretty good. One thing I like is that he provides both JWR and JSS builds of his kernel, so you're good in either case regarding the rom you're on. But now that there's a third build in the wild, it's just creating one giant mess.

hi im using cm-10.2... nites very happy had problems with Cat-4.3 online going to online sites i never go or been...a first for me in 4-5 years of using roms..back to trustable cm

Well, I moved off of Carbon because the battery life was so pathetic. I'm trying out Pacman now that they have 4.3 nightlies. First day today on a full charge, so I'll see how that goes.

Are you using the 4.3 radio? I'd terrible battery life on my first couple of 4.3 ROMs until I flashed the right radio.
