Which 64gb microsd to buy

guys

i'm reading up some amazon reviews and seem like the sandisk 64gb sd cards can only format as exFAT and i don't want to be limited by that or run into potential problems

Which brand 64gb microsd card has one tried and works good?

I've never heard of a locked format issue as you describe. I've used the same SD card on both PC & Mac platforms in the past.
IMO you can't go wrong using a Samsung branded SD card. I've heard about problems with some production runs of Sandisk cards but never had a problem with one.
Whichever one you go for, I suggest getting a class 10 to take advantage of the faster speed.

I did have problems with Sandisk and replaced it with a Samsung card. I suspect the problematic Sandisk cards are probably all gone now, but why risk it?
 
Samsung phone so I decided to get a Samsung one - pricy but at least if something goes pop you can get into the service center and they cannot blame it on the card :)
 
I'm planning on buying a Samsung 64gb card & somehow transferring the items on my SanDisk 16gb card over to it. Those who purchased the Samsung one do you go with the Pro model? Says only compatible in SDXC devices. Found them on eBay for a rather good price.

The one I bought was listed as SDHC & SDXC and I have used it in my phone and my 3 year old laptop without a problem.
Word of caution: Be wary of low priced SD cards found on ebay. If the price is super low it is probably a counterfeit card that will eventually lead to problems. A legit 64GB class 10 card is going to be in the $50 - $60 range.
 
sdhc had an artificial limitation built in to trick you into buying new devices later on. the specification itself should technically support up to 2tb just like an sdxc. so as long as the device isnt made to reject it, which i doubt.it is, it will work even if it says only works in sdxc devices

will it work as fast as it was made to? no. but will it work at the devices maximum read write speeds? it should, though i make no guarantees

p.s. check best buy they have a sale today on 64gb sandisks. $44

and yea alot.of the cheaper cards on ebay are fakes, youll probably notice the brand name wears off when handling it, just rubbing it with your thumb can wipe away the fake branding and leaves you with a few class and size specs, and a card that will only last you 6 months if youre lucky
 
I have a 32 GB SanDisk microSDHC card and it worked just fine on my Driod 3 for several months and my SGS4 for the past few months. But as of this past weekend, my phone no longer recognizes the card. :confused: :( I've rebooted the phone a few times, and every time, a couple min. after reboot, I see a message saying the card has been unmounted. I haven't taken the cover off yet to remount it physically or put it in my SD adapter and onto my computer, but I'll do so this week or weekend.

So, if it turns out my SanDisk card is either dead or just not readable by my phone (but works just fine via the computer), I'll guess I'll cough up the $ and get a Samsung branded card. : \
 
On the basis of other people's experiences and the fact that it's a Samsung phone, I went for the Samsung class 10 64GB. So far it has behaved perfectly.
