Which American Carriers sell The HTC Desire that'll work in Canada on Rogers?

I want to buy a Desire but they're all sold out on Telus' website...and Telus has taken down the option to purchase this phone from them now...you can only buy it with a plan. So I need to find another place to buy this phone and I dont really want to buy one from ebay. So does anyone know which carriers in the states sell The HTC Desire that's compatible with Rogers?

So the only HTC Desire model that works in North America is the one through Telus?

The only ones sold in the U.S. are CDMA versions. I had to get mine from Canada to use on AT&T here in the States.

It looks like Telus is gonna be sold out for months. Trying to get this phone right now is impossible. By the time this phone is back in stock, there will be a new HTC phone that is out..Or even the iphone 4 has a better chance right now of being back in stock before the desire..which seems weird.

What are the differences between these numbers?

A8183


I don't know what those numbers represent at all...Can someone help explain the difference between those HTC Desire numbers? thank you!!!!

a8181 has the 900/2100 3g bands, a8182 has the 850/1900 3g bands and a8183 has the 850/2100 3g bands. and yes the site does ship from the US

How come the A8183 is $170 more just for those bands?

lol not sure why but if you are in the US then the a8182 is the best one imo (only if you have att). not sure about tmobile

The A8182 on that site says this HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900 MHz

I dont know what WCDMA is...But will this phone work on 3G with rogers? Do I just need one of those sections to be there..like HSPA and that means I can get 3G on rogers?

WCDMA is the 3G tech used by GSM Carriers like Rogers, AT&T, T-Mobile, Telus, Orange, Vodafone, etc..
