I would like to know which browser eats up less data, memory and battery in SGN2 and opens page faster? There are similar threads in other forums, but inconclusive. I am hoping that experienced members in this forum have better answer.

I've been through so many browsers that I can't count them. Play Store seems to add a new one every week. :D

Boat Browser seems faster and easiest to use than all the rest, to me, so that is what I settled on for my Note 2 and Tab 2 7".

Other opinions will now ensue. ;)

I've heard a tons of folks saying they prefer Boat Browser, it's got a good reputation.

However, I stick with Chrome. I like being able to have everything sync the way it does. It makes it nice to go from phone to desktop and back.

I was a little worried about battery usage and apps, but between having the System settings > Developer options > Do not keep activities setting checkmarked (unless I'm busy bouncing back and forth between multiple apps for this and that) and using Greenify I don't have a battery problem anymore. Granted, I'm around chargers most of the time, and my phone only sees heavy use when I am. But it hasn't been plugged in for 12 hours now and has seen a bit of use, and is at 68%. More than good enough for me.

I have always had the best luck with Chrome. I have used it on all of my recent devices with no issues...Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus, Note 10.1 and now my Note 2.

Is the stock browser on the note (4.1.2) basically the AOSP one with the quick controls and chrome bookmarks sync ?.

Do you really need flash?
I've never gotten around to installing it mainly because I never needed it. I have read that Amazon Prime needs it but I don't use that. Is there anything else beside flash game sites that requires it?

i frequent a few message boards that posts many youtube and other video clips and without Flash, they don't show up.

you may have needed it and never even knew. :(

My vote is for Chrome beta, all kinds of fun goodies packed in

I've been using Chrome Beta just because I always used Chrome prior and loved that. I haven't dabbled much with beta, so can you tell me some of the goodies that are packed in that I might have missed by not really searching for them yet? Thanks in advance!

I am using the latest OFFICIAL Chrome browser...on 4.1.2...and it is plenty fast!

Sunspider = 849.9ms (Lower is better)

Octane v1 = 2461 (Higher is better)
---------------------------------------------------------
Stock Samsung browser on 4.1.2 is slower:

Sunspider 1051ms

Octane v1 = 2182

Hi
Quickest and lightest browser I have found is Naked Browser. UI is plain but very efficient. Quicker than chrome. I use the chrome bookmark widget but set it to open sites with naked so I get the sync and the speedy browser
Roger.

Try Chrome again after their latest update (4/3/13)...i can read the fineprint better than stock now.

Nope, still have no love for it. The fonts are better to view now but have inconsistent sizing. Annoying to me and also doesn't work well with some secured sites I use. Though stock also doesn't work well either and only browser that does is Opera. So stock as my main browser and Opera as backup.

But this is my preference. I don't care about speed. I need it to render pages correctly (which is more important to me).

Stock Internet for web browsing, Chrome when I need my bookmarks, Popup Browser for something quick and simple.
