Root which cwm is compatible with coolpad?

after i deleted that script it says its booting into recovery mode then it just goes to the coolpad quattro boot animations...it doesn't go into any recovery...ill try that new image

same thing with the new image..it says recovery mode on the screen then it goes to the coolpad boot animation and loads as normal

hmm that means its having an issue with the actual binary i compiled. the base config is ususally enough to figure it out unfortunatly without any logs i dont know what is causing issues...

cool remove that file and tehn flash recovery :)

if cwm boots at all ill be surprised. but wanted to at least attempt. please try to get adb shell to see how well it is booting.

what do you mean my intentions were? i told androidamirer that i would help when people realized that the cwm builder site is useless on these kind of crappy devices. since then he has been spamming me (almost to the point i considered setting him to ignore). but since nothing else is going on for you guys i figured id finally step in.

I meant since admirer has flashed so many wrong recoveries he is semi-bricked... I thought this was a stock recovery. The chinese coolpad has some development 酷派5860线刷包刷机教程,图文并茂新手教程_刷机教程_怎么刷机_root权限获取 - 卓大师(dashi.com)

and here did you want me to delete that install_recovey.sh script?

unfortunately none of them put their device tree online. if they did i could clone it and make it work no problem.

you can remove teh script if you wnat.

hey i don't know if this helps but i replaced that script into /system/etc and ran it as su with script manager just to see if i got stock recovery back and it did boot back into the stock recovery and under the image of the triangle with the android guy it says

E: Bad boot message

I saw this once quick before when I installed the first recovery image you sent over

Hey guys,

What is the big rush for CWM on this phone? I figured that a root (yay!) and with junkware gone it could be a sweet little GB runner, right? I'm considering scraping one of these up off of ebay if the price is right! I'm wondering tho... Why are you guys risking a brick for a custom recovery when, in all likeliness this thing will never see a custom ROM? Does CWM have some more uses than just backups and flashing?

I'm just curious is all :) Oh, and Shabby, you teh man for helping the Coolpad crew out, these guys really needed it! :D:D well, maybe me too LOL

Well if there was a cwm for this phone I would have built a rom for it but the rush for cwm is mostly for safety because users keep removing files that aren't meant to be removed which will end up in soft brick and pretty much have to replace there coolpad ;)

Ahhhhhh..... Didn't think of that, LOL.. Yeah true CWM would be easier fix for a brick than flashing new firmware. As I said, I may pick one up. Played around with one in a MPCS store and really loved the display on it, sloppy 2fps UI was a no sale :D Good to know we may have a CWM and possibly a ROM coming? Cool!
