That Guy
Okay, tomorrow I am getting a new phone. The Droid 3 will be in stores but I am unsure if it is the phone I want to get. Right now, the decision is between the Thunderbolt, Charge, Droid 3, and Revolution. The front-runner, for no particular reason, are the Charge and Droid 3.

Droid 3 -

Advantages
  • 8mp camera
  • 1080p video capture
  • Front facing camera
  • Physical keyboard
  • Dual-core processor

Disadvantages
  • qHD screen
  • No 4g
  • Physical keyboard
  • $200

Droid Charge -

Advantages
  • 8mp camera
  • 4G
  • Front facing camera
  • Vivid Screen
  • No physical keyboard

Disadvantages
  • Physical keys (more prone to break?)
  • $300
  • Single-Core processor
  • No physical keyboard

Thunderbolt -

Advantages
  • 8mp camera
  • 4G
  • Front facing camera
  • No physical keyboard

Disadvantages
  • $250
  • Single-Core processor
  • No physical keyboard

Or the iPhone 4.

I don't know as much about the Charge or Thunderbolt so if you guys could help me add to the list of advantages/disadvantages, that would be great.

I think the Droid 3 is the best choice due to the dual core processor. It may not make a difference for a while, but a few more months and the dual core will come into its own as Android OS is released to fully leverage the dual core.

This is the same reason I decided to get the Evo 3D, for the dual core, even though my Evo 4G works great right now.

Shudder at the iPhone 4...that would be a big mistake imho, especially with iPhone 5 coming out in a few weeks, and I am not a big fan of Apple iOS compared to Android.

Says who?

Purely subjective. People on both sides of the fence. This being an Android forum, obviously, more will favor Android.
Huh??? All news reports indicate the iPhone 5 being introduced in September... have you missed all the media sensation about that?

Personally I own iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad 2...and I am often frustrated using the iOS devices. Of course it's subjective, but having been enlightened by what I can do with Android, living within Steve Job's walled garden is a daily exercise in frustration.

If the Droid 3 was 4G capable, it would be an easy decision for me. I guess for me it's really which phone will stay current the longest. I might be stuck with this device for 2 years so I want it to be able to keep up long after the purchase.

I have the Infuse 4G, and I don't evn live in a 4G market, lol. To me the selling point was the screen size (4.5") But for others its the dual core. My ideal phone has at least 4.5" screen, dual core, 1080p Hdmi 3D record playback and is .40 cm thick but it don't exist.
I love the screen size, but I would like more ram and a dual core however I can live without. I know next year, I will trade it in. Just pick the MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES. price shouldn't matter, ur gna spend on movies, apps and books, anyway...

4G isn't available where I live or where I will be going to college so 4G is not important it seems. But the screen on the Charge is still alluring.

I guess you said a few weeks...it's the 2nd week in July, so we have at least 6 weeks until September. I'd still be surprised if it rolled out in September, but that's just me. Almost like that good 'ol Bionic that was supposed to come out earlier this year. It's all speculation.

I own an ipod touch 3G and I do like the refined, stable nature of iOS devices. I played with an iphone for a while and thought it was nice...they just don't have the capacity I need and their price is a bit out of touch compared with Android devices. They are nicely made devices, though...in my opinion, of course.

I'd say any of those 4G phones. Even if 4G is not available in your market, I believe Verizon is rolling out 4G to other markets pretty fast and I mean buying a 3G phone this late in the game is like buying an obsolete phone. Remember you will have it for 2 years.
