Help Which G Voice option?

I finally got my invite to Google voice but am concerned with which option I should choose?

Does anyone have some insight they can share?

You can do both...

get a number. Because even if yu don't use that number you can also get all the other features.

Yep get a number, you can just use vm if you want but have the option later to use it. I do that but will dial with that number if I want to mask my real number.
