Which of these Tablets can make Phone calls & send SMS text?

Which of the new breed of tablets can be used for phone calls(not just VoIP) and SMS texting?
SamGalTab10
Xoom
HP Touchpad
RIM Playbook
other?
 
Crap! I wonder why? All the hardware must be there, and the software is obviously part of Android/iOS/webOS/etc.
 
A tablet is closer related to a laptop than a phone. A lot of people consider them blown up phones, but in all actuality smartphones are more like miniature tablets, with the built in ability to make calls on them.

And yes you can text on them, just like you can any laptop or computer.

I would say a Galaxy Tab is closer to a Galaxy S than it is to a netbook running W7, let alone a laptop.

And which laptop can you text from? You can't send a SMS text from any laptop I've ever owned, unless you use a 3rd party web service; I want to swap my SIM from my Nokia 2100, to my Hero, to my Xoom, depending what I'm doing.
 
If you're just looking for a big device that can make calls, you can check out the new Galaxy Note. It's screen size is 5.3 inches and it has telephone/SMS capabilities.

Appears to be a US only service with a monthly subscription; not what I was looking for.

I've had the SGN since last year, and it's awesome!

Look forward to my next upgrade, hopefully to a SGT7.7, or similar. About the perfect size, just needs the same camera as the SGN to be the best phone(sort of) on sale at the moment!

It could be near perfect with just a couple of simple tweaks.... Samsung, DM me if you want design advice ;)
 
I have a friend with a Galaxy Tab 7 and he uses it as his phone. He looks a bit silly holding it up to his ear though. :)
 
Galaxy Tabs sized 7inch to 8.9 can make calls and send SMS

Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Note 10.1 can also make calls and SMS.
 
I have a galaxy Tab 7+ WiFi only model and it works fine using my google voice account and grooVeIP for calls and txt. not the best audio quality but it works.

Like TheBrit said, you will look silly holding it up to your ear.... however, it does have Bluetooth
