Which phone to pick>

So here goes, I lost my Sony xperia P:( and now I have saved up enough to get a new phone, so I need some honest suggestions.

My typical usage for the phone is, gaming, music, browsing. The Xperia P used to last me around 10 hours. I do hope I can get some more battery life, with gaming buttery smooth.

Yes i do wish to play around a lot with ROM`s and mods. The phones listed below are the ones that i can get hold of so kindly no phone off the list. If you do believe I can get a different phone in India do let me know.
> HTC one x AT&t version ( krait processor version dual core )
> HTC one s T-mobile version
> Motorola razr maxx
> Motorola atrix HD
> Samsung galaxy nexus
> Galaxy s2 any variant
> Galaxy note

Yes the galaxy S3 its a bit off the budget for me :P
I am super confused at the moment. Obviously I will not be purchasing a new phone anytime soon so I need it to be future proof as well.

Galaxy Nexus. No competition.

However, Amazon has the GS3 for $99 on a new contract if you'r switching carriers or upgrading...

Hmm. I am a bit puzzled, isn`t the Omap processor of nexus a bit dated? Now that we have kraits performing exceptionally. I really would love to know what is so different in the nexus, considering the razr has the same spec?

We dont have contract based phones in India :P :(

Software support directly from Google (already has Jelly Bean stock while others are just now getting ICS). Plenty of custom ROMs and mods because of its popularity.
