Which screen is better Amoled or Super Lcd?

I have searched the forums for this and did not find anything, but different sides and rants going off topic, so which screen is better?

A) Amoled

B) Super Lcd

On the Desire of course.
 
i've never seen the amoled version but looking at my slcd version, i am pretty happy with the color reproduction. maybe i will change my mind if i see the amoled version though
 
I origionally had an AMOLED screen, then i got another Desire on contract with an SLCD screen.
I gave the AMOLED to my mrs and kept the SLCD..
It looks just as good but with better battery life. Ive put them side to side and no real difference to be honest.
AMOLED is not that great.......

They're both fine, AMOLED just looks sharper but after a while you begin to see a pink hue on white, I played with a Samsung Vibrant and noticed it. With SLCD you'll see slight bleeds around the edge of the screen which isn't a big deal.

I also have 2 TVs both with LED and LCD displays, and after several hours my 32" LED TV gets hot while my 37" LCD TV stays cool as if it was turned off and my LED TV has some burn in spots.
 
As I've not seen the SLCD I have nothing to compare it with so have not voted, but the AMOLED is certainly sharp with good colour reproduction...

both are great, and there is very little difference in image quality.

Amoled is slightly more dynamic and the colours are a bit brighter, slcd is slightly crisper and the colours more realistic so Its down to personal preference.

Amoled has been proven to use less power though despite HTC saying the opposite when they introduced the slcd replacements.

but... HTC would have prefered to use Amoled in all Desires if possible, but the shortage in Amoled screens forced them to use slcd ones.

Personally I'm glad I got an Amoled one.

Errr... An LED TV is the same as an LCD TV. It just uses LEDs to backlight instead of a fluorescent lamp. I have an LED monitor for my PC and it doesn't get hot at all, where as my 40" LCD TV gets really hot.

AMOLED is completely different technology than an LCD or LED backlit screen.

Is there a way to tell which display your phone has ???
 
I prefer AMOLED. AMOLED shows black as black while S-LCD shows something grayish.
On the otherhand, the density seems to be better on S-LCD.

By the way, S-LCD does not mean Super LCD.
S-LCD is a just a brand name of a product line of TFT LCDs. (Google S-LCD Corporation).

So S-lcd is just an lcd like the ones found in crappy dumb phones like...

I had the Nexus one with the Amoled screen and after three weeks the screen showed signs of screen burn in and there was no way to fix it or stop it, so if you do not care about burn in then the Amoled is for you, personally i think Amoled is junk and there are many different threads that can be found by Google that support the burn in problem of the Amoled screens, I will take the Slcd any time over Amoled, infact Amoled is a deal breaker for me.

Slcd means Sony LCD brand, they make the Slcd for HTC!!!!!!

I initially thought I had an AMOLED screen but on checking the phone packaging I found it was SLCD, I was disappointed at first and then realised that the screen itself is brilliant so I'm a happy bunny....
