Root Which Sense ROM

As Ive mentioned on another thread, Im replacing my Desire tomorrow with a SG2.

Im thinking of giving the Desire to my Mrs and want it to be as stable as possible for her. I think that going back to a Sense ROM might be best and I want to avoid any apps2sd situation as i Believe my recent problems with the phone could be down to the SD card. If everything important was contained on the phone I have an 8gb non partioned card that I can reformat which could be used for any non system use.

Would anyone recommend a specific ROM - as there are a large amount to choose from - I dont know whether to go with an original RUU or Sense 3.0.

She wont need anything flash (pardon the pun) and functionality and reliability are key.

Teppic74 rooted stock and then use titanium backup to move a few more apps to fat32 partition (like the "move to sd" option)

+ 1 for Teppic74's rom. Simple and stable with the benefits of expanding memory.

Thanks folks will do. Samsung's tried to throw a spanner in the works with galaxy s3 spec in the news today but cant wait. In 12 months time when you lot are all spirting quad core phones, I'll go and sulk! Thanks again.

Flashed the Teppic74 ROM and used a re-formatted 8gb sd card. Everything great until I decided to put a 'select few' apps on the phone (15-20 at most), and found internal memory was down to near the 15mb mark........now I remember why I rooted in the 1st place.

I had difficulty getting apps2sd to work properly (EDIT - may not have had a partition on the card at this point !) So ive reflashed Redux 1.2 back to the phone and added Go launcher for her. Its running so sweetly I`m a bit loathe to hand it over to the Mrs !

I think my problems have definately been down to the 16gb card - either the card itself or a class 4 card for this size is too slow for the Desire - especially when partioned and running apps2sd.

I want to thank everyone for all their help over the last 20 months.. I`ll be playing with my S2 now but am sure will still be on this forum from time to time.

Ta,

Robin

I used Teppics with a2sd and it gave much more memory.. I would rate it highly for anyone rooting a phone for a partner who likes the phone as is.
