im not up on the tablets, but i am looking for one with wifi only.best os,biggest screen, cheapest price.what brands to stay away from and what brands to look at.where is the best place to look for them? thanks

Stay away from the Entourage Dual screen E-reader/Tablet, and the Elocity A7. I had a little bit of fun with the A7, but it still didn't do what I needed it to do(Angry Birds, Market). and the Entourage was just straight trash. The A7 was $300(I think), and the Entourage was under $200 dollars.

If you require the market, your best bets are the Viewsonic G-Tablet(would need to be able to root), the Archos Gen 8 series tablets(Would have to download market seperately), or if you have the money(or order it off of HSN on payments, like I did) the Samsung Galaxy Tab(Market included).

I hope that I was of some help. However, I vote for the Galaxy Tab. Don't listen to everyone that says that its Outdated. If your worried about an outdated device, don't get one, they all become outdated, and the SGT works great for me.

is there a certain model of the galaxy tab or is there just one?I would prefer to have the market. you say the others dont have the market, how do you download apps?or dont you? that would suck if you couldnt download apps.

Most have a 3rd party app store.

I got the Sprint Galaxy Tab because I got it from HSN on payments. Howeverthe wifi only version and the Verizon 4g version are coming out soon.

Like I said, if your on a low budget or don't want to make payments the Arhos or Viewsonic are good choices. But if you can afford it, get the SGT. The t mobile version is suppose to have a bigger hard drive. But HSN only sells the Sprint version. I only use it for wifi.

If you want one now, I think the best value would be in the viewsonic gtablet but you have to root it to get the most out of the tablet like the android market. The tegra 2 cpu and the dev support is worth it . IMO

I was very close to getting this tablet, but my mom was buying it and everywhere around here was pulling it off the shelves for the excessive returns due to the stock UI so she told me she wasn't buying it because of that.

However, the Elocity A7 has a Tegra 2 which is why I bought it, and the Galaxy Tab seems smoother than that tablet.

Yeah, the G-tablet doesn't make a good first impression. I'm glad the dev community helped it out. It actually has gotten better for people who do not want to mod a device. It's fairly snappy out of the box but in order to get the "real" android market, it still needs to be rooted.

As for the A7, I'm sure if the A7 has support it would be a better device too. A tegra chip does make a difference when it has the proper software to run The G-tablet is faster than any other tablet out right now when properly tuned.

I can't wait until the Tegra devices hit the mainstream. It could help the developers when developing ROMS for the G-tablet and A7.

Funny thing about the A7, is it comes rooted out of the box. It just gave me a headache, and didn't have true multi touch, and had a crappy UI.

I am glad that I sent it back, and got the Galaxy Tab. If the $$$ is available, I think the Galaxy tab is the best bet. Even without the Tegra 2.

Really it's rooted? That is funny.

I like the Galaxy tab. I still think it's a little overpriced but you can't blame Samung or the carriers for pricing it that way. It's a great out of the box device without a real mainstream competitor except the Ipad.

Yea. You had full access out of the box. And I love my galaxy as well. I wish it was cheaper, but still a good deal.
