If it's anything like the Galaxy S you won't need a another video player.

It play most files, MP4/DivX/XviD/WMV/MKV/H.264/H.263 etc.

Yea, just make a folder on the SD card or drag and drop movies on it that have the format above and play as you like.

Is there any way to play BluRay movies on the SGS2?

Obviously they would need ripped somehow, and re-encoded to a more usable resolution and more feasible file size. I remember doing this for DVDs years ago to put them on my PDA.

Yes, many bluray rips come in the form of 720p or 1080p mkv/divx/xvid files and yes the Galaxy S could play these and so should the Galaxy S2

There was an issue with 5.1 audio though, not sure if thats been fixed with the Galaxy S2, hopefully but it's not a big deal re-encoding the audio.

It can play BluRay content copies straight from the disc? It is probably worth re-encoding it to 800x450 anyway to save on memory card space, since a BluRay disc is 50GB, and my MicroSD card is 8GB. I'm not going to fit many movies on there :)

I don't know anything about this TBH, what format should I look to rip to?

Look up microSD cards on wikipedia lol, apparently 2 TB is possible under the existing SDHC form, but delivery under SDXC is more likely if ever.

I always use a purchased copy of winx dvd ripper, this does most things in some good detail, which leads me onto a question, if 3gp is the native format of Gs2 then which is more suitable:
3gp 128:96, 120 kbps, audio- 4.75 kbps, 8000hz
3gp 176:220, 312 kbps, audio-10.2 kbps, 8000hz

Am I right in saying 3gp is file format, 128:96 is screen aspect ratio, 120 kbps is the running speed of the refresh rate on the picture only, 4.75 kbps is the running speed of the refresh rate on the sound only and that the file itself is going to run at 8000hz ?

When i drag n'drop an .mkv file of 2gb i get the message that it cant be copied because the file size is too large for the volumes format. How can i get around this?
