Which would you opt for... 4G or locked phone?

Would you swap your existing S3?

  • My S3 is unlocked and unbranded, but I really want 4G.

It seems absolutely clear now that, even with the Jelly Bean update, existing International S3 phones won't be able to connect to 4G. Orange/T-Mobile (now to be known as EE) have said that they will launch a new LTE version of the S3 which, I assume will come branded and locked. If there was a no-cost/no-penalty way of exchanging your current S3, would you go for it?

For myself, I've worked out (assuming I've done the conversion properly!) that my 1 GB monthly data allowance equates to an average of only 90 seconds per day, based on my current mobile connection speeds, so I've stopped worrying about missing out on the upgrade in speed.

If I was on orange / t-mobile like I am with work, i'd be upset they weren't fixing/strengthening their 3g network first

Id be happy with working 3g. If they can't do that, I can't help but thing their "4g" would be crap too

When we do get it i bet i will not be able to connect where i am and by the time i can i will probably have upgraded to the latest device that can use it.

H+ is fast enough for my needs i just wish the UK coverage was better.
