no what you are seeing is light shining on the edges of the handset. its called edge light. its also called back light.

the photo does not make anything clear.

No, people are getting confused by this. Only the back of the phone is white, while the front is black, just like the iPhone 3GS

In fact, the link from engadget is not showing two separate phones (black evo and white evo), it's actually the same phone

ok so i have a htc hero and iv been dying to upgrade to an evo. i go to best buy and they tell me they wont have evos in for about a month !!! Then they tell me about the white evo and if i pre order it i will get it before the next normal black evo shipment comes out. so i did, had to put 50 dollars down but then they give you a 50 dollar gift card in exchange.

I got my Evo on launch day but when i saw it was coming in white i preordered it and i returned my black evo last week so ive been using this horrible gophone for a week but itll be worth it when sunday comes.

I think the white EVO is pretty cool. I have mine in a black case anyway so you really cant tell the back is white. I think a case for the phone is a must, so do it really matter? Im just glad to finally get my hands on one. Either way, White or Black its still an EVO!!!!!!!!!
