white EVO in sprint stores and screen question

Hello Evo forum, I've been thinking about getting the EPIC or EVO and now leaning towards the EVO and had a couple questions that I couldn't find in search.

I was at the sprint store and they claimed they would be getting white EVOs but didn't have any to show, am I wrong in thinking this was a Best Buy only thing?

Also, the sprint guy said that the EVO has switched screen manufactures and that the screen should be even better, does anyone have one of the newer screens and is there a difference? I google searched it and all i found was someone who had one and claimed it was worse.

The white EVO was a Best Buy exclusive when it first launched, but it won't be forever. I would expect the Sprint stores to be the first to get it after BB loses exclusivity.

my understanding is that the white evo was going to be exclusive to best buy for a brief period. Sounds like the period is up.

only 2 screens that I'm aware of, and there's contorversy about which is better. it seems the earlier one has more vibrant colors but the later one has kind of "cool" colors but is sharper.

I really don't think you can go wrong with either screen, one or the other certainly isn't a show stopper imho.

thanks for the help, I think I would get the white one if given the choice but its not that big of deal, and the sprint rep made it sound like the white ones they would have would be with the new screen.

Are there any other little manufacture differences that might be worth considering?

hello and welcome to the forum.

the early runs had light leakage at the bottom and screen separating issues. the two different screens that are out in the wild offer subtle differences.
