hi i have a problem which i hope someone can sort out for me. yesterday i found an htc wildfire cell phone. i pulled out the sim in it and after managing to unlock it by rebooting it the previous owner managed to track me down. can someone explain me how this works pls?

It means that it's his phone and you should give it back.

Maybe you didn't steal it, but it's still the right thing to do. You'll sleep better if you do. ;)

I just want to add my voice to those advising you to return the device to the owner.

You could be asking members of this forum to help you steal a phone.
 
There are MANY apps that allow users to track their phone.

Now... I'm not sure WHY you would need to pull the SIM card when you found the phone but it does sound fishy.
