Who got the update??

Got mine yesterday, but GF didnt, She had her 3G and Wifi off though, so i wonder if she missed it. Were one a family plan so shouldnt it have gone at same time? I may have her try checkin.

Have you guys been powering down your phones since the update?

Why is there some reason why we should now just leave the phones on all the time?

Unless you don't want to be bothered, there's no need to EVER turn the phone off.

I got the update last Friday afternoon. I had noticed my phone would go silent on the first call I'd receive after using the camera. I used the camera Saturday and haven't had the silent issue at all. It's great *knock on wood*

Still no update....was out of town for the weekend and used the camera quite a bit and noticed like everyone else that the first call received afterwards was silent. Really would like to know why I haven't yet gotten the update. Is it still rolling out???

Why is there some reason why we should now just leave the phones on all the time?

There was some speculation in another thread that the silent bug manifests itself only after >50hrs of 'on' time. This would be related to the idea that the audio drivers can't restart after sleep mode kicks in.

Not sure why 50hrs was specifically mentioned.

It is interesting that the drivers appear to boot up fine when the phone powers on...this suggests that the drivers only have trouble booting up when they are waking up from sleep and interfered with with some unidentified app.

Got the update last Thu. Didn't see any problems but wouldn't have known since I spent most of Friday in no signal office and then parked phone for the night without even looking at it. Saturday morning running around and I get back to the wife and she's raising cain about me not answering my phone to come get her. What answer, I say? I didn't hear anything and I look and lo and behold....lots of missed calls. Uh-oh, the silent bug I say and she says WTF are you talking about? Nevermind....so I say, that's odd...worked fine last time I checked....call me. Never rings. Hmmm, let me call you. Her's rings...conversation goes on and I press SPEAKER....no speaker. My turn to say WTF. madly check settings...remove apps that mess with sound....put in earphone and play music...no problem...pull earphone...no sound. Uh-oh....worse than silent bug.

Off to VZW....baffled techs...hm, hard reset ought to do it. Great, all my free apps go away. Well, look they say, it's gonna be that way if we have to get you a new one anyway. OK. No help...further diagnostics...BAD SPEAKER!!!!! chip or what, I don't know. So here's a replacement but oh, we can't activate it cuz OUR SYSTEM IS DOWN in Little Rock!!!!!!

Finally that night it gets activated....and guess what....then I get an update notification!!! Amazing...I would have thought the phone they gave me would have been "current." So far, no problems.....again but we shall see.

So, check you AUDIO....it may not just be a silent bug.

What thread was this ? I can personally state that it doesn't take at least 50 hours of uptime before it occurs. I know I'm not the only one either.

Yeah, someone else said that in the thread...I'll try to find it later. How soon after you power on does it take before you see it...does the phone have to spend some time in sleep before you see the bug?
