Who has the Shift

I just got mine today and i like some things and don't like some but how is your experience for those who do have it?

I like the smaller feel it has. I can put this phone in my front pocket and it doesn't feel huge
It feels like it is faster than the EVO which I have also.
The small screen I see it as a plus and not a minus.
Same functionality as the evo withou losing to much

I don't like that it doesn't have a front camera
I think the volume keys are located in a wierd spot which is the top right of the phone. This is due to closing the slide you inadvertently press the volume key

Does anyone else have any pros or cons?

So you have both the EVO, and the EVO Shift? Do you like one more than the other? I am trying to decide what to upgrade to..

Yes I have both...I just got the shift today so I don't have a preference cause it would be the phone I have had the longest which is the EVO.

How important is a physical keyboard to you? Will you, without a doubt, use a video chat app? Will you connect your phone to a TV or monitor to play videos?

Both phones are great, answer those questions, it should help.

I was up for an upgrade Feb. 1st but I called sprint today and asked very nicely if I could upgrade earlier (2 weeks and so before) and Damn I just still love I switched to sprint about a year ago from Verizon .. They Said Sure no problem!!
So I should be getting my new shift in a couple of days.. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I have had it a few days now. Does the Shift have DLNA? I remember hearing it did, but for the life of me I can't find the setting. Unfortuantely I think I'm returning it for an Epic. The 3.6" screen is too dinky for me which also leads to too dinky of a keyboard.

I'm doing the opposite, in going to the shift from an epic. I'm tired of the damn physical keyboard issue that has plagued every epic I've owned. swype has its uses but I need a keyboard. ill tough it out with a smaller screen until the next best device with larger screen & reliable keyboard comes

Im with you on the volume rocker. It is in the worst spot ever. When I hold it horizontally to text or play a game i have to be careful on how I handle it because it will inadvertently press the volume buttons. Other than that I really like the phone. I went from the EVO to this because the EVO was just too big and started to sit uncomfortably in my hands when i wanted to text or talk.

There is a DLNA app.

I have had mine for 3 days and i was a blackberry user and i must say overall this is a great phone. The volume key is the biggest complaint i have but im learning to live with it also the touch keyboard is nice as well for quick stuff im very happy thus far.

Right on the money, the volume key is in the worst spot ever or its just to sensitive. Other than that i love the phone.

I haven't seen anyone complain about the bad placement of the micro usb port. It's in a spot which makes it impossible to use while charging. At least in portrait anyways. Anybody else?

Yeah, I agree. I have trouble using it both ways.

I have had my Evo since it first came out, and I love it. But i'm really thinking about getting the Evo Shift for the myself and my girlfriend. To be honest to this day I have never used the front cam or the hdmi port. I got to play with the Evo Shift in the sprint store and that thing feels very nice, the Epic feels kinda cheap. And you can tell the difference with that next gen cpu.

I am in the same boat.

To this day, i have had both the Evo and Epic. And i have never used DLNA, HMDI, or a FRONT FACING CAMERA. Went in the first day the shift was released, bought the Shift, and sold my epic on the bay. Couldnt be happier. Love this phone. Nice feel, nice build, nice keyboard. Love Sprint, Love HTC, HATE APPLE!
