It's hard to pick just one, as I love pretty much any kind of music. If I had to pick just one, though, it would be....

Hard for me to pick one favorite but top 3 would be Coheed and Cambria, Protest the Hero, and Cage The Elephant
And gonna throw this in there, don't normally listen to this type of music, but The Seatbelts are amazing.

Ahhhh killin' me! Not saying 50 is amazing or anything but hip hop artists are definitely musicians. You don't have to sing.. look at Bob Dylan... great lyrics but he cant sing for crap. And being able to put a sick beat together definitely takes talent.

Sings and plays guitar for Foo Fighters.
Plays drums on some of the Queens of the Stone Age tracks.
Played lot's of instruments in Probot.

Other than that....Thelonius Monk, easily my favorite Jazz Artist
 
David Gilmour, all time favorite. His selection of notes, ability to develop differnet ideas in the same solo, and the overall movement of his style it extraordinary to me.
 
I too have many favorites from several different genre's. My all time fav tho is Our Lady Peace and Kenny Chesney.

theres many more that I love but these are the best of the best.
 
Just read through the posts and was surprised that nobody mentioned Joe Satriani (I could have missed it, I'm trying to pay attention to the Winter Classic too). Joe is my favorite musician. I keep coming back to his music. I've been listening to him since 1988, when I bought "Surfing With The Alien." And he still just gets it for me.

If I were going to mention a favorite band, I think I'd say Great Big Sea. Always a fun concert.

Ok, that's my bit.
