whole lot of shaking going on!!!!!

i was just headed to bed when the it rocked and rolled. i could not go to sleep after that. i think i finally passed out around 130am!!!!!

i had to be up early this morning, so i could not sleep in......now i'm tired.

thank god there was no significant after shocks.

I didn't sleep much either, @ocnbrze, but not because of the earthquake. [Insomnia.] But I must say that I was convinced that was just a foreshock--I kept waiting for the real one to come.

Dr Jones said that only occurs about 5% of the time, and I know she knows her stuff! So I guess we're good...for now.

My niece, in Van Nuys, called this morning; I was surprised she felt significant shaking over there, considering where its epicenter was. But no damage or anything. Same here, no damage; how about you?

yep, i saw that a tweet she put out as far as foreshocks go. i find it interesting that it is the same fault line that the whittier earthquake happened. i think the epicenter was also very close to that earthquake.

I forgot to ask: did you HEAR it first, and then feel it? I did. It was a sound kind of like a semi-truck going too fast over a speed bump--and very recognizable as an earthquake about to happen.

I think it's the noise that made the dog bark, AT the front door--she thought someone/something bumped into it.

i live on a hill and it seemed like a loud truck was driving around the bottom of the hill......so i did not think anything of it, until i felt the shaking.

it was, to say the least, an unusual earthquake. very curt.....very short.

Hey @ocnbrze and other Californians, I just got this alert:

It's a good time to remind you about, or introduce you to, the MyShake app. If you don't already have it installed, now's as good a time as any! :)
