Who's getting a Note 3?

Two weeks ago I took an early upgrade by swapping a family member's upgrade to get my note II. I won't be upgrading to the note 3 anytime soon.
 
I'll probably get the Note 3 after it's been out a bit. By then, things like root and tethering will be sorted out (I'm on unlimited data with Verizon so can't tether).

Per the link, this new Note II is heading to China and probably not a global release
 
I am seriously thinking about getting the N3 whenever it is released, but I am not in a hurry as I am still happy with the N2. I really do like the larger screens of the Note line though, and I am sure there will also be some other new enticing improvements.

Of course, everything to deal with battery will be pure speculation at this point. Since Samsung will most likely continue using OLED screens, battery drain should be at a minimal compared to traditional LCD screens. I think RAM does need to be boosted out of necessity as well as the GPU VRAM. Especially if considering S Pen. Heat would be another issue too, right?

If they go with the Snapdragon 800 processor, battery life shouldn't be a problem. It's been shown to be pretty battery-efficient a processor. So long as Samsung continues with removable batteries, a larger battery is always an option. I do think that the Note 3 will likely continue the trend of good battery life in the series. It would seem foolish not to ensure good battery life in the Note 3.
 
WOOOOOHHHOOOOO!!! According to FCC filing, LG (Optimus) G2 will be the first powerhouse phone to be compatible with Sprint Tri-Band LTE!! However, on a minor negative note (to me), SVLTE is not available...that is, G2 will not be able to do LTE and Voice at the same time (can't surf net and talk at the same time).

Happy camper here! :) I will have both Note 2 and LG G2 in my house, along with iPhone 5.
 
If I can wait until mid January I'll be able to do an upgrade once a year alternating my upgrade with another from an additional line on my account.

Having used the s pen and the phone's additional real estate for taking notes at work, it's going to be hard for me to go with any other phone than the Note line.

But removable battery is critical. I hope they keep this trend.
 
i currently have two lines, two active phones (S3 & GN2) and i will upgrade my GN2 to the latest and greatest when it releases (Galaxy Note III) regardless of my contract with Verizon, I'll pay whatever I just want to have it!!!
 
I just got the N2, and know someone who just got an S4 and, they said to me that they are still jealous of the screen size of mine. Hmm, I found that interesting due to the "guts"of both. I don't think I'll get the N3 since this awesome phone can still stand up to the newer releases. Maybe the N4, when that is released. :thumbup:
 
It's amazing how time can change ones perspective. I've said since launch day the N2 was the first phone I could see myself using for 2 years. Normally that was not the case for me since I switched phones practically every 6 mos. Boredom would set in quick and I had to have the newest latest & greatest.

If I got the N3 it would be for want and not need.

Yup. Same here. I lasted 1.5 years with photon. Definitely ok going 2 with note 2. Thing is, I have never upgraded out of need. It has always been want, for me...lol

I feel you. I L-O-V-E-D my Photon but a new want jumped in my line of vision. I gave it away, got the S2 and have been riding Samsung since.

Tri-band LTE won't sway you guys? :p This is my biggest complaint about Sprint nowadays...poor LTE range and poor LTE penetration into structures. Tri-band LTE solves these issues...where LTE is available now.

Does Sprint even have a tri band phone yet?
Last I heard they had a MiFi, a hotspot & a dongle.

FCC filing confirms that LG G2 will be Sprint first tri-band LTE phone. No simultaneous voice & data though. From what i read, this feature will not be available on tri-band phones.

(Moto X is NOT tri-band.)

It is way too technical for me...but it is tri-band LTE: band 25 LTE 1900 + band 26 LTE 800 + band 41 TD-LTE 2600. One notable caveat is that it supports neither SVDO nor SVLTE.

Das right! U just jumped on the Sammy bandwagon earlier than me.
 
Pre ordered my GN2, I honestly still don't think there is a better phone out there, will I get the GN3, probably, but thats also bc of want, I'm excited to see it come to light, I'm hoping for less bezel, an s pen that actually can work the back and menu buttons(lol) a better camera, and possibly even no verizon branding on the home button haha.

The S-pen works on the buttons on the Note 8 so hopefully that'll be something they do for the N3. In the meantime I just use S-pen gestures that do the same thing.
I hardly ever have to use my finger for anything.

Go to settings / s pen / scroll down to s pen help / gestures.

Learn them and definitely use them--once I got accustomed to gestures (which took no time) I stopped caring about the s pen not working on the buttons and even on the N8 I still used gestures forgetting that I didn't have to.
