Galaxy Note has the best GPS I've ever used with barometer and GLONASS support, so I'll just be using that.

I have read that the GPS hardware on this thing is second to none and has GLONASS support as well so it is not a "guts" issue....just shielding from the metal back. ANd I don't think a plastic window suggested above would help much...maybe a little but not enough to provide the stability to the signal that is needed.

That's a shame then, but it seems to be the ways things tend to go with electronics. The software demands outpace the hardware. It happens with Apple too. According to Apple forums, the iPhone 3 does not support iOS 5. But the pace of hardware becoming out-of-date is ridiculous at times. With our 2 year contracts here in the U.S., our phones can be obsolete by the time we've fulfilled them (ok, maybe a little exaggeration there).

What I'm not clear on is if it's 14 days from when it ships or from when you receive it. Since they say you need the packing slip, I would err on the side of 14 days from shipment to be safe. That time is up for me before the reported 1/12 arrival of ICS. :(

14 Days from date of DELIVERY - CSR. Make sure to keep proof of date of delivery!
 
I have decided to just sell mine - why send it back when I can get $100 more than what I paid for it.

My reasons are:

1. Wifi - the wifi sucks on this. Side by side my Tab 10.1 is 5 times faster.
2. GPS - I didn't think it would be a big problem but it is
3. Speaker - The speaker is located exactly where I put my hand so it is muffled.
4. MicroSD slot - the micro SD card sticks out. I have accidentally ejected it several times
and I feel it there. It should have a smooth cover over it.

i've seen a lot of people complain about the microSD slot and the card sticking out. i have a card it it, and it does stick out a little, but i find it is easier to get that card out then the stock blank that comes with the prime that was a pain to pop out. just me.

I am going to guess what is why they designed it that way. Perhaps they should have made it stick out just a tad less than it does now. :)

Although the items don't make me love my Prime any less, I do agree with your points 3 & 4. Really weird decision to place the speaker where they did. It has such a great sound, but you have to be careful not to stifle it with your hand in landscape mode.
I've found that I have to be careful how I sit my Prime down. Last night, I sat it upright, not thinking about the fact that I had the microSD card on the bottom. Later after picking my Prime up I noticed a tiny microSD card sitting on top of the carpet. Then I looked at my Prime and noticed the empty slot. Fortunately, it was my older 8GB card and I found it. I'd have been so upset had it been my just purchased 32GB card and not been able to find it. They should have put some sort of clip or cover over the card to keep it from coming out unwittingly.

i haven't had this problem yet. will say that when i do have the prime in potrait, i tend to have the card/volume controls towards the top.
 
I hadn't had a problem with the microsd card until I went to watch a movie yesterday, and the card was nowhere to be found. I have no idea when it popped out. I never had to think about this before, because previous devices with sd cards were recessed. I have decided I won't keep the card in the slot, and will only insert it when I'm going to use it. Otherwise it will stay safely in my Case Logic sleeve.

Yep, I learned my lesson on that. I either sit it down landscape wise, or with the card on top now. Fortunately, my lesson ended up not being costly. I personally think this is a beautifully designed device (barring the GPS complaints perhaps). It's just a shame that what seems like such a small thing can end up being so costly for those of us using the microSD. Not only loss of the card, but the data on it. Caution is the word for the day. :)
