Who's signing up for the Chrome OS project?

Are you serious? You know, ie and activex are part of windows right?

serious about what? yes i understand that its a part of windows. chrome does handle some activex.....

and an update on my cr48.....i still wanna make sweet sweet love to it. the thing is awesome!

Chrome on Windows can handle some ActiveX...and IETab obviously won't work because IE is Windows only. All IETab does is open an instance of IE within a Chrome or FF tab.

Chrome OS is so easy a caveman can do it.

I do know the concept of Chrome OS is about as easy things can possibly be.

However I'm imagining when Chrome OS machines are available and will most likely be sold alongside Windows 7 laptops, in places like Best Buy, PC World. Currys, etc. Are the commission driven sales associates going to guide the customers towards the Chrome OS computers, or they still going to be pushing the Windows 7 laptops, along with all the profitable up-sell?

These places have tried selling non-Microsoft (Linux) laptops in the past, and they've never done very well.
Apple computers are often sold in their own section, away from the Microsoft computers.

Do we know if they're completely done shipping these out? I'm curious if my girlfriend is getting one, as well as a few friends.

roflmao...thats good stuff right there.

Something I read awhile ago is that the first batch sent out was easier to track because of the shipping numbers being sequential. So I wouldn't put everything on what that shipping site says. Don't give up hope!

As far as the notebook goes all I gotta say is the more I use it and figure it out the more I <3 it :D

Yep, still nothing on the tracker. Just saw on Engadget they've successfully booted Windows (not sure which version) and OSX on it. Cool stuff. Wonder what Google thinks of it?

I'd think it's be pretty worthless to run anything other than Chrome on it as it has little to no SSD. Guess it's still fun to hack it though.

Sadly I didn't get one, ah well. I don't think I would have used it that much, if I brought it to school with me (where I would use it the most) it would get stolen. I'm almost 100% sure of that. <.<

Plus I really doubt having it on the actual netbook is much different from doing it this way. :p

Image stretches webpage, so you'll have to click instead. Sorry. >.<

How do you know you aren't getting one for sure?
Anyone received one lately?

I applied I believe on the first day you could apply, and if not the actual first day somewhere close to it. If I haven't gotten one by now, I'm probably not getting one. :/

Same here, which is too bad since I spend nearly 85% of my life online.. and everything I do is online all day and most of the evening so I would be pefect for the project..
Guess I will have to go back to surfing for an android tablet

I applied and looks like I haven't been chosen. It's unfortunate, I love the idea behind Chrome OS...then again, I love the idea of Android officially on a laptop even more.
