Help why a mobile website instead of a desktop version

I have a zte anthem 4g and i am using a tether to use the signal on my phone for the internet on my computer but every time i open my web browser i.e. goolge chrome or internet explorer it is acting on my computer that it is a mobile device is there any way i can make it so when i look at a webpage on my desktop it uses the desktop version. For example if i go to hulu it says that hulu is not supported on my device, however if i just hooked up my computer to any normal internet connection it would work. I am tethering using pdanet and have the full version of the app. I know i can change the source code but i can not even change that because because it is a mobile version of the browser PLEASE HEEELLLLLLLPPPPP MMMMMEEEE ther are things that i have to do online but i can not do them on a mobile site and they do not offer me to change from mobile to desktop version.

When you're tethering you're using your phone's user agent which displays websites in their mobile form whether you're on your desktop or on your phone. A simple way of changing this is using a user agent switch add-on for your browser.

On Firefox I use: User Agent Switcher

  • For a Firefox user agent put in this code:
    [HIGH]Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0[/HIGH]
For Chrome you can use: User-Agent Switcher for Chrome

  • For a Chrome user agent put in this code:
    [HIGH]Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/29.0.1547.2 Safari/537.36[/HIGH]
